Although the two series do not have the same theme, the type of humour are very very similar (nearly identical). On top of that, the facial expressions Kenichi makes are very reminiscent of Nagasumi's. Also, Seto San does have many common point with Miu, as both have very strange mood swings and personalities. Kenichi's masters are very similar to the Seto family too.
Can't quite put my finger on it, but these 2 anime gave the same feel. It is possible Nagasumi gives me the same impression that Kenichi gives. At the same time, San's father and Sakaki of Kenichi gives the same violent vibe (down to the scars on their faces). Humor is often targeted at the unease of either main characters. Personally I think both are overrated anime too.
Seto no Hanayome has a very similar kind of humor, while being a little more extreme and on a faster pace.
The overall theme of a boy who just wants a simple live with his love interest and the complications of his masters/relatives who don't know where to stop is present at both animes.
Although the stories might be stereotypical, they are executed very well and hilarious. It's hard to find funnier animes.
