Both are (arguably) the best anime adaptations of the video games they represent. Both have some top tier fight scenes. Both focus on only a few of the games' characters, with only small or brief cameo appearance by other known characters.
Regardless, if you are a fan of either franchise, then these are must watch titles.
Side Note:
Try to avoid the recently re-released SF2 (Blu Ray edition) it's been horribly re-edited. Stick with the original DVD or VHS versions.
