Trying to place the similarities between the two shows into words is honestly complicated. In part, I don't want to give away spoilers. Seemingly dissimilar are these two series except for the same-sex content which crops up, that's really not the only draw. Perhaps then it is the draw of the characters, and how each is almost like their own book? Or the fact one is on the edge of their seat wondering what happens next. Perhaps words were easier to put down than first thought.

No6 and Akuma no Riddle, at first there seems to be nothing common. But if we analyze it:
* Both protagonists are of the same sex, which feel an attraction, although it is not clarified if it is "love".
* A boy / girl protects a weakling who refuses to accept the reality of what is happening around him and is resigned to changing his point of view. But this guy /girl sees in her/him an honest person and could not judge him, even if he could have a tragic past. And he/she in turn want to help.

Both of these anime have an alluded to relationship within them that is never truly affirmed during the story.
The two have a similar atmosphere at times.
I found Tokaku to be similar to Nezumi from No. 6 in her protection of Haru that she can't really explain.
