All i have to say is that this OVA is basically a trailer for the real OVA coming out, but there is no real OVA coming out hahaha. There is no story. All you get is violence with no explanations. The story is beyond mediocre and the art is a little above decent. But if you're a brainless puppet and you enjoy senseless ninjustu hand motions, this is totally for you.

It REALLY pisses me off how people put down the anime, Gantz in most of the reviews on here. This is an awesome anime besides what most people think. Gantz, is a diamond in the rough because of its surreal feel that provides a look at the darkest aspects of human behavior and the human mind, by letting you get to know the characters from the inside out. Characters think out loud in some sorta stream of consciousness, showing that which is normally left unheard. This keeps the phrase/cliché “show the evils of humanity through children” theme from being dull. In combination ... with the uniqueness of the situation, the character's thoughts make Gantz an intriguing watch. A creative use of the human logic and the raw look at the best and worst of humanity makes Gantz more than a gore-fest, but an OUTSTANDING series.
Yeah i think they could have taken it farther since the Manga goes on Forever, but i think it was a great series altogether. Yes, sex in the anime, violence in the anime, doubtlessly made it attractive; one could even argue that the makers of the anime are making a statement based on how we are drawn in by our own nature, or apprehensive thoughts in this messed up society we all live today, where some human lives are worth less than others. In the end, there is nothing that cannot make Gantz both a great work of art and a great creative success because to me art is suppose to shock you, and this series did exactly that.

This is why I believe Gantz is a perfect unique piece, regardless of how great the manga was. You don't have to agree with my convictions/analysis, but I just hope that it could lead people to reexamine their initial approach to this amazing anime. check out my page when you get the chance :P

The story of Haibane Renmei is full of interesting themes of sin and redemption. However, we don’t really see those themes untill half way through the series, and for good reasons. As we follow Rakka through her new life as a Haibane, she stumbles across some new interesting questions about their culture and the mysterious town they live in. This helps bring in more mystery and curiosity for the viewer as well. And then when the main themes of the series make their appearance, all hell breaks loose. With the thought of sin and redemption, you would think there is some sort of religious thing ... involved. Not quite. There are many religious themes involved, however, it’s more of an allegory then a strict following of a certain religion.As well as question some of the more interesting plot points of the series such as the wall surrounding the area. I personally loved the series because of it's creativity, and how it differs from a lot of anime. Without cleshay main characters, plus it's beautiful story, I give this series a 10 with no hesitation. I usually don't recommend shows like this to people, but this series is a game changer.
