Shitshow of a manga with a story that goes nowhere in an emotional aspect, characters having little to no development, and too much torture porn. I really do think there was a lot of potential but it all just became generic action stuff. One of the worst works to come out from the edgy magical girl genre. Asuka x kurumi was the only thing that kept me reading. Some of the characters though were interesting though, they all had so much potential, and I liked the fights, they were nicely drawn along with the entire manga, it was absolutely not worth reading though, please do ... not waste your time

This has been my favorite anime for over 5 years and it’s still the best anime I’ve watched. It’s a story about adolescence, self expression and grief. A cutesy slice of life anime with a heartwarming message that personally changed me, each and every character, including the protagonist, yuuta, is very unique and complex, they all have their own struggles. Best show for anyone who likes slice of life with an actual progressing and emotional story.

Yuuta’s and rikkas development will always be so dear to me, he goes from hating her to being attached to her and deeply in love with her, joining her fun ... little shenanigans because he deep inside, is still the same at the core, he still likes chuunibyou stuff, and he learns to accept himself, chuunibyou and rikka for who she is. Dekomori and nibutani are such a fun dynamic, the second best couple in the series, they bicker and tease each other and deep down enjoy being around one another. They all clash together in the funnest ways and make an awesome set of characters.

The series takes a sharp turn by the 6th episode, and the entire tone of the show changes. Rikka has a reason for being a chuunibyou, and it’s not that she only does it for fun. She first used it to cope with the fact that her father had passed away, and yuuta helped her gain this new view of the world with the lens of chuunibyou, rather than the sad reality she had to face, she couldn’t even believe what had happened.

The art and animation for the show is amazing for the year it was made in, a lot of effort had been put into the imaginary battles particularly, and I love the Japanese voice acting too, every voice actor did an amazing job.
