This is one of those anime that after I finish I get disappointed because I am going to miss watching it. The flow of the story was excellent and in almost every episode I laughed pretty hard. Of all the animes I have seen this is probably the most comical one I have seen. The artwork was well drawn and the facial expressions were great. Each character had their own individuality, although sometimes I couldn't tell all the characters from each other because there were so many.

The first season of Higurashi no Naku koro ni can't be truly appreciated without watching the second season Higurashi no naku koro ni kai. The unpredictable story really brings out the suspense, irony, and enjoyment of this anime. The ending of Higurashi no naku koro ni kai is perfect; not a depressing ending or a cliffhanger that pisses you off. The story progresses smoothly, keeping the each episode interesting and fresh.
