This OVA is much better than the first OVA (spring). This episode actually has a decent plot and some drama. As in the first OVA, the animation is very good, better than the original series. The characters are drawn a little differently (a different animation studio I suppose) but after watching both OVAs I'm getting used to it.

There's lots of fanservice which you expect from Negima, and even more than usual because it's an OVA.

This is definitely worth watching if you're a Negima fan and will whet your appetite for the whole 2nd season, if you haven't seen it yet.

Mixed Feelings
Being a big fan of the Negima franchise, I was somewhat disappointed at this OVA offering. There is practically no plot and very little drama.

This seems to be just an excuse to show off the girls. Well, they do a good job of that. The production quality is high. The characters are drawn a little differently than the original series and I'm still getting used to that but the art quality is very good.

This is worth a couple of watches, but not much more unless you're a total freak.

Here's the bottom line: if you're a shoujo fanboy and like high school shows, you'll probably totally dig on High School Girls (aka Girl's High).

The plot isn't original. The show follows 6 high school girls through one year (first year) of high school. Along the way we visit the Sports Fest, the Culture Fest, we go to amusement parks, sing karaoke, and even go to a love hotel! But nothing groundbreaking.

The 6 girls all have different personalities, of course. We have the sweet girl, the innocent girl, the tsundere, the girl who loses her viriginity, and a couple more cuties ...

Piano (Anime) add
I was drawn to watch this anime by the teasers promoting it as a "slice of life" story about a young girl. I normally like those kinds of shows, but Piano turned out to be too much "slice of life" and not much else.

The story is about a young girl who plays the piano and her quest to get better to the point of performing in a big concert. The problem is that there just isn't much going on to hold your interest. I don't need science fiction in every show I watch, but there has to be SOME kind of drama ...

This was a good show but not good enough that you'll be replaying it much. It's a James Bond knockoff about a female secret agent with a cute robot as her partner. Good animation and lots of action with a very unexpected ending.

There's a tremendous amount of fanservice offered up by the main character, who is showing her panties in almost every shot. To be honest, it's just too much fanservice even for a shoujo fanboy like me and after a while you become de-sensitized to it. I'm not sure what the deal is because the show isn't a comedy and ...

This show sucked. From the teasers it sounded like it would be funny. It certainly is different, I'll say that, but just being different doesn't necessarily mean good. It's not funny, it's just stupid. It's about a potty-mouthed baby who lives with a robot. There's no real plot, it's just joke after joke. But the jokes are stupid and the comic situations just repeat themselves after awhile. I actually couldn't finish it.

Just so I'm not a total bringdown, the art was well done and the production was OK. It just wasn't funny.

Preliminary (20/24 eps)
Every otaku should see a little bit of themselves (but hopefully not too much) in Welcome to the NHK. This story revolves around 4 young people in Tokyo who - well to put it best - their lives are all screwed up. Every kind of otaku-related abnormality is explored here with a lot of dark humor. It's funny yet it really hits home at the same time, at least it did for me. This show doesn't get a lot of action on anime boards and there's very little merchandise available but I think it's one of the better shows of the ...
