Is ecchi always trashy? Can ecchi actually be good?

This is a query I have dealt with every time I tune into a new ecchi show. After this show, I can say this now, but this show does try to do more than just pure ecchi. Not much, but it's there. If you don't think too hard and are more nonchalant about it, you may see something of value beyond just the erotica. This show is tasteful in some aspects; if it went any further than this toward hentai territory, I think I would've enjoyed ... it less because these topics but approached in a more severe manner is simply unappealing in my opinion. Honestly, this show does quite well in dancing on that line.

Now, the show's focal point is moving along to the next erotic scene; yet the plot, no matter how minimal it may be, is comprehensible. Having completed the entire show, there is development for most of the major characters. They have more depth to them than other shows of "trashy" genres. Now, it's not the best storytelling, duh, but it does manage to make the plot move along. 5.5/10

The BDSM elements stemming from the protagonist is not something I wholeheartedly understand, and I would not watch this for that specifically. This show is not for everyone, and some elements are things I would not digest outside of an ecchi anime setting. However, if you manage to get past the first and perhaps second episodes, you may enjoy the show as I did. The show does lean deeper into some more perverted elements, so back out from the beginning if it's too tough there.

Characters - Every character is nonconforming and different in some way. Every. Single. One.

Each side character, along with the main, do get developed splendidly. Plus, this does add along some wholesome and yuri elements, which are refreshing when watching this show.

The animation quality was also pretty good, with nice colors, which adds to its being a more laidback and not as serious show. It's like a peak "monke-brain" show I would say. The animation and sound are better than expected.

If you can enjoy Ecchi, disregard some stuff, and not take things that seriously, this show may be for you. However, do understand that this show goes beyond "normal" Ecchi limits. But, I would still say, give it a try!

For what it is selling, this show does exceedingly well in making it more than just pure erotic scenes, and I applaud that.
