The most similar thing about these two shows is the question you ask yourself after watching them, they both makes you doubt humanity. The difference is that kiseijuu is more of an action show while shinsekai is more dark mystery theme and unpredictable turns.

Basicly they are both romantic/comedy/drama animes with different background story and their romantic problems but I've found them quite enjoyable in a similar way. Plus another difference is that sakurasou is about teens in high school and in golden time they are at the collage age
