Roughly 10 hours of great artwork. Katanagatari was a beautifully drawn show about a swordsman who doesn't use a sword. Almost everyone on the main cast shines with a prismatic sense of character. Albeit some of them are very simple in nature. The music complimented the mood and tone of scenes. My biggest issue with the show was the pacing at times. Given that every episode is about 50 minutes I went into this expecting every second to be exciting and that might be too high of an expextation but it was disappointing nonetheless when the story slowed down. Steam punk zombies. Zombies are an old trope but adding in the dystopian refinement of steampunk gives some life to the genre. The zombies are actually terrifying and the impact that they have on the world is presented throughout the show. Kabanero is an entertaining show with some beautiful animation; absolutely the best part of the show. The music was appropriate and but overall forgettable. The main character started off really strong with a generic backstory but a really strong sense of character. The supporting cast is filled with a bunch of essentially useless characters but this shows best girl truly earns that role. In
