This manga is what you get when you take an OP mc and crank it up to the extreme. It isn't meant to be taken too seriously and the author knows that, thank god. It's pretty underrated tbh, but only read it if you're interested in the premise. Otherwise, don't let yourself down.
Also, the MC kills off so many people it makes me feel like a psychopath for liking this. But it's also probably how the author just gives a middle finger to conventional morality and writing tropes that drew me to continue reading this story.

and sleazy, but gets better bit by bit as it goes on. As I said, the story isn't meant to be taken too seriously, and the author keeps that in mind. The story mainly involves the MC and the main girl going around the isekai world, getting themselves involved in various random conflicts and ending with the MC just brute forcing his way out of everything with his insta-kill powers. It sounds boring until you realize this entire story is actually a parody of common isekai tropes, added with meta-commentary and even some random scifi elements. (no details because spoilers tho, but it's mainly related to the MC's backstory)
With a MC as broken as this, you'd think the power creep would be a problem. I mean, what's the point in all the conflicts if the MC can just kill everyone with a thought and move on? Easy. Just come up with more stupidly overpowered people to face off with each other as well as the MC. Since the MC is already broken, it doesn't matter what other broken superpowers exist in this world, and the author takes full advantage of that to come up with a bunch of other ridiculous people with ridiculous superpowers. Then they get pitted against each other, thinking they're all high and mighty and the main character of the story, while not knowing the real protagonist is just sitting there munching popcorn or something. This gives rise to an opportunity for a bunch of genuinely interesting conflicts, but you don't have to get too invested in anything since you know the MC gonna wind up killing everyone anyways.
Even though I say this manga is mostly a bunch of comedy and (kinda dark) jokes, there's still some sense of a larger narrative going on. Random elements that were mentioned earlier on become relevant to the story later, and the plot is paced pretty well. I didn't find myself getting too bored, but things aren't happening so fast that I don't understand what's going on either.
Also, surprisingly there's no harem, as far as I can tell. Not too much fanservice either. The MC is only interested in one girl, which saves the story from all the unnecessary drama that other isekais get bogged down with. I think it's probably one of the main reasons I'm not bored of this yet.
Characters: 7
The MC is the embodiment of 'I don't give a hoot about anything'. He's pretty detached from everything, and that works very well with all the meta jokes they make throughout the story. He's a bit Mary-Sue-ish at times, but it's not too noticeable. The main girl Dannoura isn't much special either, but she's surprisingly mature and not too annoying to read about, so that's fine.
One character I do like a lot is Asaka-san, but even talking about who she is would be spoilers, so I'll leave it be. Just note that she's pretty damn relatable and I wish she showed up more.
Outside the main trio of the MC, the main girl and her guardian spirit (yes that's a thing that happens), there's a WHOLE lot of side characters. But they come and go pretty quickly, and most of the annoying ones get killed off by the MC before they get repetitive. People die really quickly in this manga. A lot of the side characters also parody one trope or another -- there's even one dude who's a parody of gacha games for god's sake. They aren't too memorable, but not really to the detriment of my enjoyment either.
Art: 6
Standard manga artstyle. It's not too bad, but nothing particularly interesting about it either.
Problems:
- Honestly, with the whole premise of 'killing anyone with a single thought', I thought there would be a moral dilemma at least somewhere in the story. But it's never mentioned, and I've read until volume 7 of the LN now. Some other characters might comment that the main characters are psychopathic, but that's basically it. Hardly anyone in this story has a functioning moral compass, in fact. I'm not saying that the MC should become a better hero or something -- hell that'd take away what made the story interesting in the first place, but I would like for someone to at least challenge the MC's worldview once in a while.
- Nothing they do really comes back to bite them either. An idea that I would've liked the manga to explore would be like 'What if they accidentally kill off someone important?' but it just never happens due to plot contrivance I guess.
Overall: 8
A story with a surprisingly neat mix of comedy and serious plot moments. It knows that if it took itself too seriously, the story will just fall apart, but has enough of a sensible narrative to leave you wanting more. In terms of depth, there's not a lot of it, but if you're bored and looking for something to turn off your brain and binge, then this is something I'd recommend.
Edit: after reading the newer LN volumes and recent manga chapters, will have to dock a few points from the review because the plot just progressively gets worse as they approach the late-game phase of the story. A lot of what I said below still applies, but only for the first 5 volumes or so. Afterwards perhaps of how clusterfuckery the worldbuilding has become due to all the elements that have been introduced, the plot just gives up on making sense, the conflicts become repetitive and utterly boring. Still think it’s readable if you’re very bored, but just don’t read the later volumes, or get too invested in anyone’s backstories.
