lol yes ttgl is so boring and crappy. lovely review. and I HATE HOW PEOPLE abuse the word epic or say it's the most epic anime ever and it's just like you haven't seen all the anime that's been out ever.. seriously. so dumb.

Well let's see here. For starters you skipped episodes 6 and 7 so you didn't even see the lead up to 8. That's not going to make you appreciate the episode right there. I can understand hating ep 4 because the guest animator was terrible but I just can't see how you can't like the other episodes.

For starters the animation quality is top notch. it uses a very adaptable style that can be used in serious situations and in joke situations, much like Fooly Cooly.

But what's great about TTGL is that it's one of the best coming-of-age stories I can even begin to speak of. it's a show where the main character starts out weak and ignorant but through his trials and tribulations becomes an adult and finds his place in the world. of course, you wouldn't no that since you never even gave it a chance for all of the character development to flesh out. There's also a time skip after episode 16 so you really haven't even begun to scratch the surface of the story and the plight that humanity must face.

In addition to being a coming of age story TTGL has the central theme that you can always succeed if you put forth the effort. This can range from simple things such as surviving day to day or destroying an evil regime to save the human race. Such a theme is paramount to the story and is presented in a wholly interesting fashion.

Going back to the animation we have the character and mech designs themselves which are for the most part inventive and all have a uniqueness to them. Whether it's the brash and manly Kamina, the scared and silent Simon (though he doesn't stay that way) or the charming and innocent Nia they are all represented in a style that reflects their own personality. The mechs almost seem like cariacatures themselves but the style works for them and allows them to be distinct from other mech shows such as Evangelion, Code Geass and the Gundam franchise.

I have no idea where you draw these similarities to Pokemon and Inuyasha. Sure the beginning of the story has a light-hearted feel but that's because everything is supposed to seem innocent. the characters need to grow up and face the harsh realities of the world. You're trying to say it'll be predictable as well? I highly doubt you can predict what will happen to humanity after the timeskip or even what the main villain's intentions are. Legitimately give this series a chance and experience it as a whole before trying to say that it's terrible.

dude how can you like bleach and not tengen toppa? Bleach is far more predictable than Tengen Toppa...
