After I finished Shinsekai Yori I sat in awe for a good hour of what I had just witnessed. The overarching plotlines are executed perfectly and it's atmosphere is consistent throughout the entire series.
I always say the ending of any book, tv show, movie, or anime can make or break the entire experience. Shinsekai Yori's ending doesn't tie everything up with a neat little bow, but explains enough but not too much, to leave the viewer stunned.
The portrayal of this Critical Utopia is excellent as it highlights the fundamental rule that Utopia and Dystopia are one and the same.
