I seem to constantly root for those who treat abnormalities simply as the ground they walk on. Got a superpower added to your life? Stay in school. Turn out to be Akina's best driver? Keep delivering tofu. Lose your sister's sight and receive the All-seeing Eye Of The Gods? Keep delivering pizza.

Kekkai Sensen is packed with such enjoyable concepts, environments and characters. Kekkai Sensen is that friend who goes out of their way to give you shits and giggles because they're such a nice person. This beautifully conceptualised post-alien invasion world gives its best kicks from Leo being so mundane that he normalises absolute chaos ... and death around his being every single time he's in the portrait. It's beautifully done and you'll be watching this entire anime with a smile.

The captions introducing the characters feels so natural. The voice acting - both the protagonists and the villains, give so much personality insight and perspective to the voiced character. This one will be so enjoyable if dubbed properly. The camera angles are varied constantly, and are so well done it sets the standard for future anime - there may now exist an anime you can rewatch and enjoy purely for cinematography.

Every scene is drawn from a new camera perspective and doesn't skimp on visual accuracy. The way scenes are laid out to the audience makes them learn so much about characters and plots without the characters needing to doggedly explain concepts. This creative ability means that the pacing is just on-point.

This is the first time I've seen an anime so good, and so confident in how good it is, that before the ending, it will wrap up all loose ends, give you a happy ending, and will still be confident you're hungry for the next episode.

Akame ga Kill is a great display of a seemingly-ideal revolution against power and tyranny. From a conceptual basis, the overarching ideas are very real, and very relevant. We see how power corrupts people; how soldiers blindly accept oppressive instructions and how people kill for the sake of killing. AgK mirrors many military regimes in modern society - we have countless documented tortures and mass killings simply because it was either their job or they were given free reign to do so. I thought of the Iraq War more than a few times as I was watching this movie.

One character - a soldier working ... for the oppressive kingdom, who really hasn't done anything bad on-screen - mentions he joined the dictatorship to change the system from within. While he sounds completely sane and logical, the audience is pitted against him instantly, specifically because they know that any involvement in working for evil makes you part of the evil; and the creators have done a great job in leading the audience up to this pattern of thinking.

Other concepts to do with justice are very well thought out here; and the audience grows quickly throughout these 24 well-paced episodes to validate or invalidate each character's proposed notion of justice.

Art: Camera work was absolutely great, with the art sufficiently engaging the watcher, not frustrating them, and allowing them to appreciate every drawn scene. Fan-service was toned right back when the plot needed focusing which was great.

AgK did fairly well to keep the tables even in the fighting. The fights were enjoyable from start to finish.

The best audio was best during fights, and even then it was mediocre. I really think that there was a constant discrepancy between what was drawn and what was required.

Good characters, the male lead died, which is always refreshing (cruel, I know) and Akame wasn't validated. No fame or history books for assassins. This was consistent with the episodes - "everybody knew what they were getting into" - and is totally true.
