Does Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid have elements of yuri? Yes, it indeed does. Is it an amazing romance anime? No, I wouldn't say so. The romance element is diluted by the lot of drama. Is it a really well constructed show with a meaningful message? No, there really isn't. There is just lots of commotion, and the plot isn't really organized. Fanservice is overused in this show, but I guess that is the purpose of fanservice (I don't know).

If you enjoy fanservice, this is the anime for you. There is a bunch. If you look forward to a good yuri anime, go look for better yuris.

Hotarubi no Mori e is really well-thought out movie. This movie brings out the idea of how a loved one's life can be so transient.

The love story of Gin and Hotaru start when Hotaru is a little girl. Gin is a spirit whose touching of any human can result in his perishing. Hotaru is a normal human girl. Although Gin and Hotaru never got to make physical contact early on, their relationship builds through the moments spent with each other. Despite both of their being able to meet only on specific times of the year, their love remains loyal year by year. However, one ... day, on the way home from the festival they attend, Gin makes contact with a human being, resulting in his death. At last, Hotaru gets to touch Gin; although the contact is short, she gets to enjoy the last few seconds with her love. All it takes for Hotaru's lost of Gin is his contact with a human.

In conclusion, "A soul is fragile, but the moments made with the soul is everlasting," was the sentiment of this movie.

If you are interested in this storyline, I would really recommend this for you! It's a wholesome, sweet romance which contains emotional messages all within 45 minutes of time.
