Beautiful. So beautiful that tears flow like a broken tap. I wanted to say that it's tragically beautiful but when I think back, I think I shouldn't call it tragic, else I feel like I'm letting Kaori-chan down. Oh, now I feel like I'm Arima. This anime evoke so many emotions when you watch it. The fact that it's only 22 episodes and not more makes you focus so much on the short time span and the short relationship between Kaori & Kousei. One of the best anime in recent times. At first it would seem like a suspense/detective story. Some people complain that it was too easy to guess who the serial murderer was. But after finishing the series, I see it much more about character development & relationships. Great story, fast-paced & with a superb ending episode which makes you realize why the anime is named this.
I give it a full 10 points for Story, Character & Enjoyment. I'm really looking forward to the next season and the upcoming drama n movie. Heck... How long are reviews supposed to be? It keeps saying my review is too short... ...

Very interesting story. From the onset, focus is on the 2 main characters of the story. Story slowly unfolds and author slowly brings in more depth to the characters. Shrouded in mystery, it makes you want to follow and find out more about the characters and their background.
Most importantly, it's easy to see the the author has brought in many facets and issues people face in society today into the plot - discrimination, struggles of the lower classes, equality, terrorism, animosity between countries among other things. But not a very big fan of their brother-sister love though. |
