Lovely Complex is a great way to enter into the world of anime. While the story itself is fairly easy to follow and understand it is the characters themselves that truely make this a great anime. I would recommend this to all anime lovers.

I have been a big fan of Ichigo Mashimaro for it's subtle humor and laid back style. I found the first OAV to be very funny and enjoyable. I was somewhat disappointed by the change in art work from the original. Over all though I was happy with this episode and I am looking forward to the second one.

There are certain times in your life when you want to just clear your mind of everything and just enjoy the simple things. This is one of those simple things.
Ichigo Mashimaro isn't action pact, it isn't full of angst, and it isn't full of itself. What it is full of is funny little moments, nice moments of friends bonding, and just plain pointlessness. All of those things are what make this such a great little series. At 12 episodes and three OAV's it can be watched in one long afternoon. |
