Alla fine tutto si è concluso nel modo più logico e poetico possibile.
Finale commovente, come poche volte se ne sono visti recentemente, che dona un significato a tutta una stagione che è sembrata deragliare oltre qualsiasi logica del buon senso.
Ma a che cosa è dovuto l'incredibile andamento di questa stagione? Probabilmente alla Sunrise e agli sponsors, che hanno fatto di tutto con le loro richieste per cambiare le idee degli autori: già modificare l'orario di R2 rispetto alla prima stagione, mettendolo la domenica pomeriggio, faceva capire come la Sunrise volesse qualcosa di ancora più commerciale e adatto un po' ad ogni tipo di pubblico.
E allora
...
a Taniguchi e Okouchi non è rimasto che abbozzare e costruire una sequela di colpi di scena, ribaltoni e cambi di alleanze ed altre trovate tra il ridicolo e l'assurdo, cosi da prendere in giro la Sunrise e una parte del pubblico, ma riuscendo spesso ad arrivare comunque all'epico e giungendo alla conclusione progettata agli albori, che chiude tutta la serie in un modo memorabile.
Impresso nella memoria, da questo punto di vista, rimarrà l'episodio 21 che, nella maniera più bizzarra possibile, ribalta tutte le teorie che gli spettatori si erano fatte fin lì, ridicolizza alcuni personaggi fino al quel punto mitizzati, ma riesce ad essere ad ogni modo assolutamente esaltante.
Le potenzialità mal sfruttate comunque sono tante? Si. Alcuni personaggi (Cornelia e Kallen su tutti) risultano in R2 mal impiegati e sviluppati? E' vero. Non tutti i colpi di scena sono in effetti da salvare e ben congeniati? Giusto. C'è qualche resurrezione di troppo? Senza dubbio. Come amalgama della storia, guardando tutta l'epopea nelle sue due stagioni, il meglio lo abbiamo fino alla Battaglia di Narita, prima che tutto da lì cominci poi a procedere a strappi e a momenti topici isolati, con alcuni episodi francamente da buttare o che si salvano in extremis a volte solo per alcune scene? D'accordissimo. Tanti difetti che farebbero buttare la sceneggiatura nel cestino.
Ma rimane il fatto che resta lo stesso un'affascinante faida famigliare, un' epica e a tratti struggente metafora di un mondo impazzito (ed escludendo le esagerazioni e la poca verosimiglianza che la serie possiede, mondo non troppo dissimile da quello vero) che riesce a trovare la sua pace e la ragione quando tutto sembra perduto. Pace che, per essere ottenuta, bisogna essere in grado di saper pagare dei sacrifici.
Un inno alla gioventù in grado di abbattere un sistema retto da valori vecchi ed egoistici, creandone uno più giusto.
Tutto questo è sì anche, e forse per lo più, un giocattolone stupido, ma è stato terribilmente divertente e geniale pure nella stupidità, così da superare quel confine che fa in modo che, un'opera che ha tutti i crismi per essere mediocre, possa diventare invece uno stracult. Una serie per pochi ma non per tutti XD.
