Monster Infirmary or Hitomi-sensei no Hokenshitsu is a cute little story published by Seven Seas Entertainment, featuring cute monsters that call for help from the great Nurse Hitomi, and hilarity ensues!

Story - 8/10

This story completely revolves around and is suggested to people who have a weakness or curiosity for monster girls. Varying from giants, undead, or long-tongued monster girls who ask Hitomi to help them when they're suffering from embarrassing changes while going through puberty. Hitomi is one to give advice and help these teenage monster girls with with any embarrassing moments just like us humans have to go through while we're growing. It's ... a cute and different story from anything I've read lately, it's fresh and goes with the ever increasing popularity of monster girls. It ties in not only these hilarious scenarios from different students, but it also lets you look into Hitomi's personal life on the side.

Art - 9/10

Although I do think a lot of the manga I read has really nice art styles, this one really stands out from the rest, it uses a lot of thick ink lines that blend in with the thin that helps make this manga stand out from the rest. Facial expressions are drawn wonderfully and fits really well with the style of this story. Some pages can be a little bit too overwhelmed with black ink, but it still helps different parts of each page to pop. I do like that this type of art style is a little bit more toned down compared to some other manga (like Monster Musume) where there is little to no nudity. It has the ecchi factor to it without having to show anything super provocative.

Character - 8/10

The characters are unique because they're monster girls. They are all different in their own way and it makes it enjoyable to read, as each chapter is about a varying type of monster girl, that presents a problem that needs to be solved. No matter what type of monster girl they are, they somehow manage to be adorable and cute in their own way.

Enjoyment - 9/10

I really enjoyed reading this manga, Seven Seas managed to get their hands on publishing another fresh new concept and add more to the collection of the monster girl trend. I adored the art style and each character as the story went on, it makes me look forward to what else this author has to offer in the future! You can tell a lot of work was put into this manga and I applaud the effort and the story from Shake-O.

Overall - 8/10

If you're looking for a different style of ecchi, a different type of story involving monster girls, or wanting to jump onto the monster girl bandwagon, this is a great start and and an adorable first try, instead of jumping right into a more provocative story much like Monster Musume, also published by Seven Seas. I adored each character and the simple story that went along with it all. I recommend this to monster lovers, ecchi lovers, and people who want a break from the usual genre of manga, or art style.

I'll try my best to write this review without spoilers. I'm on the fence as to whether or not I genuinely enjoyed this story. It definitely is a shorter manga, as it only has 6 volumes, and it leaves room for some necessary details that were left out, and a slightly rushed ending to get to a conclusion as to why people were paying for their sins, or crimes.

Story 6/10 : The back story to how the whole "Judge" game was really intriguing to me. All of the middle parts where characters are paying for their sins were kind of flat because we weren't ... really informed too much of what exactly a character was paying for, this only happened maybe once or twice. I was reading the story because I was only interested in what each character was being judged for and what they were in there for. I understand that this could've been used for the purpose of not giving too much away for later on, but it makes it seem like the author is holding too much back from the reader to understand anything that is going on. Then again that could be a tactic, to leave the reader feeling the same as the characters. Confused as hell as to what was happening and how. The only reason why I rated it higher than it should be is because of how the story starts and ends, the middle is a mess.

Art 7/10 : I won't fuss too much about the art, as I'm not too judgmental about it. For a shorter story the art works out just fine in the book and isn't an eye sore for a reader.

Characters 4/10: I understand that the writer of this manga tried to make the character's stories as clear as possible without expanding too much on un/important details, yet some of the characters stories were so flat that they were intentionally supposed to be unimportant in the story. Why not make us believe the story they tell to everyone else, and when someone pays for their 'sin' or 'crime', you can show us what really happened in their situation? I feel like this was attempted once or at least twice, and I felt that this should have been utilized every time.

Enjoyment 6/10 : I feel bad that the only volumes of this manga that I enjoyed was the first and and the last volume. I love how it begins and ends. The incidences in the middle just seem a little bit senseless to me and didn't really help figure out why they were truly there, but yet again, the characters didn't know either.

Overall 6/10 : I've read all 32 chapters and I can say that it is understandable as to why the author left character details out for the sake of the story later on. I just feel like it could have gone a different way than it did. The ending is interesting in how it all comes together, because I honestly felt clueless as to what was going on throughout almost the whole story. It's honestly okay to feel disappointed if you think the last volume was rushed, because it certainly felt that way when it was trying to tie itself up. It's hard to tell if the author's real intentions was to make you feel as clueless as the characters within the story, and then having the ending coming along quick, because it would almost feel that way if real people had to deal with a real situation like this. It's also understandable because it's quite a quick read, but nonetheless I still recommend it for the sake of the ending. I really depends on who is reading it and what type of genre you are into. I can't say I absolutely loved this manga, but it was a good read.

Jigokuren: Love In Hell is a pleasantly surprising novel that is packed with a lot of perverted humor, some drama, and even a few surprisingly heartfelt moments (that will still make you laugh). Many people may be surprised by it's content, as it's taken a step over the line of being borderline pornographic, although being a 16+ novel.

Story: 7/10
The concept of the story is very, very different. Surely not everyone is going to like the story because of the content or it's humor, but if someone is coming in looking for a different type of story, you might want to check this out. The plot ... is plain and simple, although it's not super exciting or special. This book is mostly made for it's content and humor, and nothing else. It's definitely for a different crowd of people. It pokes fun in a very perverted way. It doesn't take itself seriously at all, and there are some parts that will leave you very confused, but you can't help but laugh. There were a few plot holes here and there and we were kind of left with a dead end, although you didn't know what else of a direction it would go in anyway.

Art: 8/10
The art style was different but drawn out well. It was fresh to the eyes seeing different manga styles that are varied from the norm of what usual manga looks like. A fraction of the art is dedicated to nudity and sexual situations, mostly for humor purposes. It's also dedicated to well-drawn breasts (nipple and all) that as the reader myself, did not expect to see. They are everywhere. If you don't want to see bare breasts and scantily-clad women, then don't read it. Besides that, any of the other visuals, like the demons, looked pretty cool to look at.

Characters: 7/10
The characters were nothing special, although the personalities were enjoyable. There were several minor characters that were introduced that made the story even more entertaining, and actually created some minor tension between characters. The characters were quite pointless to the story, as there wasn't much of a story and more of a goal in mind. The random encounters made the humor better, as each one would get stranger and stranger, but none of them served well for the story, but fulfilled the goal in mind.

Enjoyment: 10/10
Although it felt like there was something entirely huge missing, it didn't take away from the fact that these three volumes were insanely entertaining and funny. There are even parts you don't want to laugh at, but you can't help it. Being a female reader, although women were sexualized because of it being writen by a male author, it had male humor too. You were able to laugh at both genders in this story. Both male and female were able to play a dominant part, and male and females were able to equally play a submissive part. If you're into perverted humor, this is definitely the manga for you. It's a quick read that is enjoyable but not too distasteful.

Another is a uniquely made anime leaving you to question it's every aspect, and every character, making you unsure of what was going to happen next, and who was at stake of a mysterious curse happening within a newly transferred student's classroom. It's a fresh, new drama with plenty of horror thrown in.

Story: 6/10
The story of Another takes it's time to unravel. It took it's time to build up to where it would finally tumble over and release the inner demons of the characters. The score was cut short, as with a story like this it was hard to understand clearly what the ... original direction storyline was heading in, as different characters were telling different parts to the 'curse'. There were a few parts here and there with cohesion issues, it sometimes felt like there was something missing the whole time. This is a good and a bad thing sorely because it left the watcher unsure of what was going to happen next, and who was really at fault. The story took it self seriously from beginning to end.

Art: 8/10
I don't feel as if the art and animation had much of a power within this show, but any of the scenes where much animation was necessary, it served well and none of the scenes or episodes left you cringing with it's bad animation or art style. This anime was more focused on the story rather than focusing on the art, which is understandable. The art wasn't overly complicated and the colors weren't overpowering, which is necessary for a horror-genre anime. It was calming to the eye considering the tone the anime was in, and any visuals that were present still looked well drawn.

Sound: 8/10
The opening and ending credits of this show is considered to be two of my favorite songs. The sound track throughout the show hands over even more of the story's eerie feeling, especially the seemingly 'theme song' that character, Mei has. It can be a bit overplayed once in a while, but I can see that the point was that if you heard the song, that's what you would think of. Well played. It gives a feeling that everyone involved is just another victim within this game-like curse. They're waiting to see who is next. The music gives a feeling of uncertainty and it serves well.

Characters: 7/10
I think the characters were well developed enough to where we could see what type of person they were, for their flaws and their advantages over others. It made you unsure of what type of person they were at the same time, and that everyone had some sort of fault or flaw that would've made them questionable, but equal. It wasn't so great at some points, we weren't able to feel much sympathy for some of the characters because of their underdeveloped stories, but I do understand they can only fit in so much into 12 episodes. You wanted to feel some type of emotion, but it was like you were sitting back and watching it all happen, which is actually clever at the same time. It was sort of an advantage, so that when anything interesting happened, we weren't able to think highly of other characters.

Enjoyment: 9/10
I thoroughly enjoyed this anime because it forced you to think a certain way, and realize that everyone was at stake because of the class curse. You were uncertain of every single character that was presented to the audience. It has a slightly slow build up, but then it quickly picks up and the ending serves well and is very bittersweet once the ending credits roll. It forces you to think deeply and put yourself in the position of the students. It doesn't necessarily focus on the physical aspect and the horror aspect, even though that is a huge portion of it. It focuses on the psychological aspect and what happens to people when they're desperately searching for a solution to something seemingly unsolvable.

Overall, it does have it's paranormal-ish aspects to it, but it serves as a pretty realistic anime that is also very enjoyable if you're into the drama/horror genre. I would also like to add that there is an OVA that exists called, Another: The Other. I felt like this should've been added into the show as it would clear up some confusion that watchers may have. It was important to the storyline, and it would've made the anime a little bit more cohesive. It was very enjoyable and recommended to anyone who is interested in paranormal/horror/drama/thriller genres.

Diabolik Lovers was brought into live action from their original dating sims, leaving the story to be scattered and confusing, as well as forcefully awkward. The characters were dull, leaving us to be unsympathetic when needed be. It would only be delivered to us as fan-service for anyone who was interested in the original game, or was interested in randomly placed perverted rapey scenes, leaving everyone else behind in a disappointed mess.

Story: 2/10
You would think that since this is a game already, the story would be set up already for the writers to just cut and paste into the animation. Yet, we were left ... with little to no story at all, and once there was a story, it was too late and was very forced.There was no build up, no story to hold onto from beginning to end. They introduced characters at the wrong time, and once the climax came around, it was too painful to watch, so most people would shrug it off because no one had sympathy for any of the characters. It would make more sense to actually play the game rather than see the anime. I felt as if it was made into an animated series for just showing the supposedly "rapey but romantic" scenes.

Art: 4/10
It does seem like once dating sims are made into anime, the quality of the animation goes down by a ton, although I did enjoy the colors that were chosen, it was interesting seeing their eye color and hair color, it was something to look at rather than painfully sit through a show with no plot. I was disappointed that they could've put more effort into the animation, it would've served a little bit better and wouldn't have been much of an eyesore.

Sound: 6/10
The music from the dating sim was transferred over to the anime. it was enjoyable music although everything would distract you from even being able to hear the music. There was one soundtrack that would come up repeatedly once in a while through out the episodes. The soundtrack itself is good and it probably serves well within the game, but there are more tracks from the game that could've been used.

Characters: 2/10
Each character had little to no dynamic traits to them. The vampires were feeling up on Yui, and Yui was the victim. That is basically the whole show. I will give it to them that they at least tried to stick a story in there, but it was too late and it was very forced. A solution was forced at the very end, too. They wanted us to have sympathy for the characters, when there was not even any material early on that we were able to use to have sympathy later on.

Enjoyment: 3/10
The only things I enjoyed about this series is the music and the art, although the animation wasn't very up to par. The story was too dull, and the characters were very flat. Someone may have a better go at this story if they were to try the games rather than watch the animated version. There may be more potential placed there, even though, I myself haven't played any of the games. I didn't want to be disappointed, and I wanted to be reminded of an anime like Vampire Knight, but at least there was a reason to everything that was happening. This anime introduced a situation, but there was no reason for it happening. It just happened, and I'm sure that he majority shrugged it off because we weren't able to have sympathy for the characters.

Overall, I wanted to enjoy this as much as possible, when I realized that I couldn't. I was confused from beginning to end with useless nonsense that would only be necessary in the game itself. As a dating sim, you don't want to let your fans down. There was potential for this but it went straight down the drain. There's a balance between romance and actual story that can be accomplished, but this was thrown together and completely severed into two different things. They should've focused on the main plot, while once in a while throwing in romance. It would've been better if the main character, Yui, actually developed sympathy for each character first, then once the romantic scenes rolled around, we would've all felt the same emotion. This show got it completely backwards, and I hope that they can figure out those faults and change it around once season 2 comes around.
