point taken.. there are few things that can beat physical presence among friends.

Well I still wish you the best, maybe you can meet someone great in this new place you will move to!

If its not feasable for you to join an anime club b/c of distance or lack of their being one anywhere near you , it can help a lot to have a decent online friend to talk to haha. As silly as that may sound, it's great to be able to vent your problems and frustrations and have some good times too especially if you use skype and stuff like that I've seen some crazy stuff xD

Or if you're not into that, you could just exchange weekly letters with someone, like a pen-pal of sorts, online. I used to do that when my life was rough for a part of high school, with a girl that moved a year prior to graduation. That was pretty fun exchanging stories like that.

I know what you mean about the groups thing. That happened to me so many times in college, everyone already has their own enclosed cliques and you're kinda just on the outside floating.

Good point about interests. What I did was join anime clubs, that helped me a lot anyway. When I move back home after I finished college, had 0 friends whatsover. Then I joined those clubs. I'm currently a member of 2 different ones, it was so suprising how much easier that made it to make friends because I we already had so many potential talking points and a very simular interest base already.

I even met my best friend now at the anime club, last May (2014). I was just randomly talking to this dude about video games and he invited me over his house to play, now we hang out every weekend :P We're both dirt poor, no job, tenuous living situations, and we still manage to goof off and have fun every weekend..

You have any clubs near you like that? That could help a lot! Especially if you are in school, or live in a big city or near one...

hope this helps

read your post on casual discussion depression page D: I hope you can make some friends soon in your life.

It may not have been as servere as yours but I also had a fear of talking to people and making new friends when I was a teenager. I was really lucky to have a couple of kids on my bus at the end of my 3rd year of high school who reached out to me , befriended me, and made me much more sociable and less afraid of people..

I won't pretend like I've completely solved my problem with talking to people (ESPECIALLY people I've never met before @.@ ), but I've gotten hell of a lot better with it. I realized I was so concerned about what everyone else was thinking about me approaching someone or saying something, that I was afraid to make new friends because the possibllity of embarrassment and failure when putting yourself out there .

Let me know if you want to talk more about it.
