I feel like my emotions make me overate the season, but seriously it was quite good.
STORY
---------------
A story that works well on it's own. I actually recommended to some of my friends just to skip straight to After Story. I personally felt as though in the first season, each - I guess I can call it an ARC - was dragged out. After Story successfully makes it's own story-line without referring to much to the previous series and is able to reintroduce us with the characters in a subtle way. In some way I do feel like the main concept of our characters growing up and

our two main characters turning into a lovely couple with it's sometimes un-needed ARC's, but even still the ARC's weren't exactly bad. The ending was fairly disappointing now looking back on it. It was about three years ago now since I first watched this, and now re-watching it, I guess I am able to see it more for it's faults. I feel like the idea of the life he was living being a dream I guess you could say. I felt it was too last minute and the writers were stuck on how to end the series properly. I still can't deny the story in-between was perfect and extremely lightening.
ART
---------------
The Art for Clannad was something criticised due to a few little common differences. Once you start watching the series it is something that you get used to as this too threw me off to begin with. The animation was executed quite well, with smooth frame transitions and movements. The quality was high with very nice shiny colours, something I didn't really see in many other anime's around the time it was made.
SOUND
---------------
Nothing much to say here, it was high quality yes, and the voice lines were done fairly well. I can't say much about the dub because... Well... It's Sentai. What is there to expect? The quality was awful and not much time was put into the effect mixing. I feel like with all Sentai dubs, the effects are just slapped in where they would have been in the Japanese. Some effects come to early or too late because of the switch of words (hard to explain). The soundtrack could become annoying at times, especially when not spread out properly. It doesn't mean I didn't like it. I really did like it. I think sometimes they just repeated one song too often. Especially "Town, Flow of Time, People" which started to get on my nerves in the end. Endings and opening were quite good. They always got me exited and warmed up. I can't go a day without humming the opening song.
CHARACTER
---------------
Each of the characters are unique in there own way which I really like and feel really attached to almost all of them and the writers did a good job of making sure we do. I feel they let go of the other characters as the story started to focus on our couple. But when we do meet them later in the series, there personalities are still in tact which is good to see. The characters never really lose sight of who they really are.
ENJOYMENT
---------------
Watching this anime more than once does make me appreciate it less. Either way I still emptied a whole box of tissues by the end of the series. We become so emotionally attached to the characters that we cared for them as we have known them for all our lives. It sounds stupid, but it is genuinely how I felt. I guess you could compare it to Jim and Pam from The Office. We get to see them become so close and grow into a family. We also see this with Tomoya and Nagisa. We watch them as they grow which really gives us an understanding of their emotions and how they feel. This is what made me enjoy the series the most. It felt so natural yet enjoyable the whole way through. I guess they made it a bit more entertaining to see everyday life than they did in the first series. I actually dropped it originally because it became so boring.
CONCLUSION
---------------
Despite the slightly disappointing ending, the annoying "Town, Flow of Time, People" and the sometimes ridiculous story ARC's (which only really happened a few times), it is still an anime I will always feel like I can never forget or never start to hate. I could legitimately watch this over and over again for the rest of my life without getting sick of it.
I highly recommend watching this if you haven't already.
