Diabolik Lovers is an anime about one girl and six hoot vampire guys. Through the 12 episode season, where each episode is 15 minutes long, it's easy to find problems with the anime. But that being said, I don't think it was a total waste.
Story: 2/10
The story, despirte it's obvious cheesiness and predictable events, had a lot of plot holes. All these left me with questions even after I finished the anime, such as:
☻ How come whenever Yui is about to get her blood sucked she turns her head so HER NECK is facing the vampire?
☻ What happened to everyone else's mothers?
☻ Where is the
...
boy's fathers?
☻ Why did they stop going to school after the first episode?
☻ Why is Yui's blood even THAT good?
And many more!
Art: 8/10
I did enjoy the art. I really did. The character design was amazing, especially since not every character looked the same. The backgrounds (especially the night ones) were quite enjoyable.
Sound: 5/10
The opening was great, I did think it really fit the whole theme with vampires and mwhahaha evil stuff like that. I always skipped the ending though, it was pretty boring.
Character: 2/10
First, can we just talk about Yui. Like, why hasn't she taken up self defense yet? You would think that being there for over a month (since there were two full moons wow look I'm decently smart) she would've done at least SOMETHING. I know that she can't beat everyone up but come on, she's practically like everyone's play toy that they just can't get enough of. Oh and also, did I mention that she is EXTREMELY naive?
Just in case you were wondering, I have evidence (woah look applying knowledge from school) for this.
You see, Yui actually gets bitten so many times, I started making a list of some of the different places where it happens, and here are just some:
☻ A bathtub
☻ A cemetery
☻ A church
☻ Yui's bedroom
☻ Underwater (in a pool)
And lots lots more ^-^
The other guys are okay. They all have a past which makes their morals somewhat there. However, they really don't go through any change. They end the way they started, even after all Yui's efforts to change them.
Enjoyment: 7/10
Now I know I'm kind of contradicting myself here, but for some reason I did enjoy this series. Maybe it was because I was laughing at how cheesy it was. Maybe it was because I wanted to see if Yui ended up dying in the end. Maybe it was because I ship Yui x Ayato (a lot).
Overall: 5/10
Well, this anime sure was something. Not in a good way, but not in a bad either. And maybe it's just me but I'm planning on watching the second season.

Every time the Demon God awakens, 6 people are selected as the "Six Braves" and are tasked with defeating the Demon God. However, when 7 people show up, all claiming to be part of the "Six Braves", everyone realizes that someone among them is a fake, AKA the "Seventh Brave".
Story (7/10):
The story is original, I'll give it that. It was different than lots of other things I've seen, but similarly enough that it wasn't absurdly unrealistic. The one thing however, is that no one ever actually gets to their real goal.
The anime shows in the first few episodes that everyone is clearly guided to
...
defeat the Demon God, but they all hit a detour when they get trapped inside the barrier. As the show goes on, it takes the entire first season (hoping there'll be a second) to get out of the barrier and reveal the Seventh.
My only real problem with the story, is that they get too off topic from it. I originally thought it would be a story about trying to defeat the Demon God, but instead I got surprised with a completely new story.
Additionally, the anime can go really slow. Even though it's only 12 episodes, the creators could've spent less time in the beginning doing pointless things and spent more time showing hints towards the Seventh.
Art (9/10):
No complaints about the art, I think it is phenomenal. All the characters have their own distinctive physical looks, which I really enjoyed.
The backgrounds are amazing too, although a lot of it goes to waste as you spent from episode 4 and on staring at scenery of fog and trees.
Sound (8/10):
The sound was great. The background music was all perfectly in place and added a lot of suspense.
The OP's were good. The first one was mediocre, but the second one exceeded so far beyond my expectations.
Chracter (7/10):
My main problems would probably be the characters. None of the characters except Flamie and Adlet got any time dedicated to their past. The creators spent too much time showing Flamie's trust issues and Adlet's cockiness that no one else got any screen time.
That being said, the pasts that they showed made me dislike Flamie even more than I first did. She was a stubborn, emotionless person, but it felt like it was so over exaggerated that it got to the point where it was unrealistic.
Enjoyment (9/10):
As far as my enjoyment goes, I really had a great time watching this anime. It made me want to know what happen and develop having theories of my own.
Overall (8/10):
Honestly, this anime was amazing. It is beyond words, especially if you love mysteries. This anime had me suspecting almost everyone at some point, even the main protagonist.
My only regret is: now I have to wait for the second season

I absolutely loved this anime. I thought when I saw the trailer it was going to be one of those cheesy animes where the girl was captured and constantly saved by the guy, but boy was I wrong. There is so much character development throughout the entire anime, and not just for Yona. I saw Hak grow a lot, trying to become responsible and take on the duties the King left for him.
Even if sometimes Yona is so dense she makes you want to flip tables, I was so glad I got the chance to watch this anime, and I can't wait for the next
...
season!
