An edgy anime that falls into uncanny valley while it fails to impress.

Characters:
They're fine, I guess. If you listen to the story rather than watch it, they come off a little better.

Character design:
Nothing special.

Animation:
Bad. Not because it's 3D necessarily, but because the movements are all wrong. Uncanny. It takes away from the story telling. An unwelcome distraction. Simply put, the characters are animated poorly.

Soundtrack:
Alright. Nothing too memorable.

Voice acting (original):
About the only saving grace of this series was the voice acting, but even then, I don't know how many times I fell asleep, having to rewatch to find where I trailed off.

A typical revenge isekai executed poorly. Begins to fall apart after episode 2. Flat on its face after ep3 or so.

Characters:
Hard to get too invested in the characters the way they are presented, even the MC.

Character design:
Character design is pretty average overall, but the familiars are just plain stupid, and not in an endearing way. That one that gets wheel legs when enlarged... WTF... just embarrassing. I'd say the familiars were deigned by a 10-year old if I didn't know some talented young artists that could far exceed these designs.

Animation:
Sometimes the 2D animation is okay, but makes heavy use ... of jarring GCI throughout, static lighting on model textures, etc., etc. No thanks.

Story:
Nothing special. Guy gets wronged, becomes OP, looks for revenge. Takes on typical good guy doing bad things role. Supporting cast is cliché at best with nothing to really draw you into their strife or cheer them on. No emotional investment. No intellectual investment. Just flat.

Music:
Terrible. Musical scores are just wrong, no cohesion. They tend to take you out of the moment rather then help immerse you into it.

Voice acting (original):
They did the best they could with what they were given. Can't really fault them for the failures of this show.

So much has been said about it that there's really not much I can add. Just sit back, forget about all the hype, relax and give it a watch. Don't skip anything or tune out what you may think are just "slow parts" -- if you do, step back and try to watch it another time.

Why did I give it "Masterpiece"? Simply because when I compare it to any other recent anime series, even ones I thoroughly enjoy, it's the only fair rating I can give it. Is it "perfect?" No -- but no art is. Art isn't about ... perfection. A masterpiece doesn't mean something is perfect -- it means it's a shining example made by masters of their craft -- and that's exactly what this anime is on every front.

It's a fun watch if you're in the right mood. Pretty good art overall, animation, audio, voice acting and writing even though a fair amount of tired anime tropes do make an appearance. Like most anime, it's kinda predictable, however the delivery makes that mostly a non-issue. Main characters are engaging enough to get you through the slow parts, and when some of Atri's antics begin to wear thin the story does come full circle to where they become endearing.

In addition to its typical romantic tensions, like so many other stories centered around androids it ponders the questions of what makes us human ... and what, if anything, is a soul.
