I believe Ascendance of a Bookworm and Beastars are the dark horses of this season of anime. I was putting off this anime for a while because I thought it was going to be another one of those shitty isekai animes that had no plot or character development. This anime was surprisingly really good with good uses of comedy as well as progressive character development. The beginning of the anime is somewhat boring but after around episode 3 things really start becoming interesting and serious at the same time.

Don't put this anime off because its about books and isekai, try it out and you'll ... be sure to be suprised!

This anime is pretty bad I am not gonna lie because they completely went off pace and the animation is just horrible for most of the fight scenes. If your looking to watch this anime PLEASE PLEASE read the manga or else you'll be clueless. Reading the manga then watching the anime didn't feel so bad because you already know the cut out parts and makes the story more understandable.

The story is legit like grinding a mmo game but your not the one grinding it, your watching someone else do it. Episode 1 starts ... off like its actually from episode 3 because they cut out most of the scenes from the manga, so please read the manga first

Character: 6

The characters are pretty bland and there isn't anything standing out (its a harem anime... no shit). The only character development is Hajime turning into Kaneki with the white hair and suddenly the cruel/cold personality.

Enjoyment: 6

I was really excited about this anime because I love trash Isekai. However, they sorta just threw everything together without any care. If they actually adapted to the manga and spent more time with the animation this could have been a lot better.

As someone who likes the trash isekai genre I can tell you that this anime is beyond garbage. Like the shit person I am, I love to watch isekai (especially ones that deal with magic) but this show was such a disappointment. There are 2 types of isekai in my opinion the 8.0+ rating ones, the 6.0+ one and then theres Isekai Cheat Magician. Anime provides no background, no explanation, bland characters, fast pacing, and overall just boring. This show makes Wise Man's Grandchild seem like a master piece and thats how bad it is.

If your thinking about watching this anime I would HIGHLY ... AVOID THIS!!!
