I already read some of negative and positive reviews earlier, and then continue to search for clue in order understanding how this anime works.
In my opinion this anime is very good in its own term. What I mean is originality (based on other previews and my experience), the main plot is indeed messed up . . . when you see it based on your current watching experience. But if you are more careful, you should see clue by clue given by author, especially in the last episode. For example, one of Kakeru quotes in last episode (in english),"When you (Touko) say nevermind, then it
...
is important (Touko's mom said that she used to be like Touko, at the end, she experience unexpected event,contrary of her future sight), the author implicitly give clue that every "future fragment" Touko and Kakeru experience just an imagination (perhaps?) yet in the end Touko still believe that and said (which she already said at the first episode), "No matter what, the future me will overcome it" (which is she forgot how that work in the middle episode which make her so afraid about future). And remember the scene about 14 marbles with some grass on the desk?That means Touko took it again after thrown it, but where is the rest of it? perhaps she neglected the rest or gave it to Kakeru as parting gift. Either way, it is clear that she already move on. Remember that last scene when her imagination come out again? etc etc, just conclude the story with clue given by author implicitly then you can understand the story as a whole. Rather see a picture inch per inch, it will be best if you see a picture as a whole.
The other morale story is love is'nt what you always imagine (Underline word "imagine" which is the key of term "future fragment"). As you can see, every imagination Touko seen (or heard) is'nt what to be expected. For example, Touko see that Sachi and Hiro had a good time together in hospital, but in reality Sachi is'nt really see Hiro as a boyfriend (you will see the clue when the two hiking together, friendzone detected). Yuki at the end love Yanagi as family (because they are brother and sister unrelated to blood),then you sure can't see them having romantic contact. And remember when Kakeru said "I've found you" then suddenly his ability vanish? There is a term in our social life, "First Love Sight", isn't it? It is just that simple. His ability is again just imagination caused by loneliness, when he found irreplaceable friend, he feels that he will not alone again.
I will tell you my another perspective, this anime is'nt your average romance anime. It has some deep meaning in it. I'm sure the author mean it (I already watched Angel's Beats and it has deep meaning while combining with comedy).
