Haha, I'm rather the opposite. I have too much interest in other things that I can't be bothered watching much anime. I was following Soul Eater, Hajime no Ippo and Skip Beat pretty closely, but I've now fallen a bit behind on all, LOL. I have been mainly focusing on finishing up FMA though just in time for the 2nd series to come out in spring.

Yeah I'm also going to pick up the Ippo manga whenever the anime finishes. I see that you're also friends with ro and he said that I could just skip ahead to where the anime leaves off in the manga. This is a good thing since the manga is super long and I really don't wanna start at the very beginning especially since it's pretty much the same as the anime (but yeah lack of color and animation).

Actually, I was told that only the beginning of the FMA anime is faithful to the manga. So I still think that the manga is worth checking out in the future. 'Cuz like they added in a character that's not in the manga in the anime and they switched 2 characters' roles in the anime, etc. It's rather confusing if you compared it to the manga (from what I've heard).

Yeah, that is my problem. Since I have all these other interests, I get kinda impatient with most anime. If it's not like super interesting at the beginning and especially if there are other shows that I like more, it kinda gets overshadowed and so I usually end up dropping it or putting it on hold.

But I don't drop things forever. Like I sometimes do with my manga, I go back and give things a 2nd chance but that's usually if I have extra time and don't have anything better to do.

I don't really have any anime to recommend you at this time, but maybe check out Black Lagoon? It seems like a nice action-packed anime. I haven't seen it myself, but it's definitely something that I'd checkout.

Haha, I used to read the Archie comics when I was younger as well! But yeah, don't worry about it. If you can't get into manga, then you don't have to rush or force it.

Yeah I've read some of Fairy Tail as well. I'd love to see this turn into an anime btw. I believe that the manga is way over 100 chapters now - more than enough to make an anime season.

Yeah I don't get how some anime get another season relatively quick, while awesome stuff like Ippo, we gotta wait years for >_<

You know what? I do like rock so maybe I'll give Beck another chance. If you've seen my list, I gave it a 6 which is an "ok" by my standards, I just wasn't quite in love with it at the time so I prematurely dropped it.

It's ok if you're not into manga, we can always chat about anime. And LOL, almost all forms of comics (except for those Marvel/DC superhero types) come in black & white. They're expensive enough as it is (and hard work to draw) and then you're going to make them in color which is even more expensive and time consuming, haha.

But almost all manga (in Japan anyway) have a few colored pages and the popular ones usually get turned into anime so I don't really have any complaints about the lack of color. But that's just me.

I agree, I prefer to watch anime or even read manga than watch most of what is on North American television.

I'm enjoying the new season of Hajime no Ippo, but I'm wondering why they have to make it so short? It's been so long since the first series aired, don't they already have more than enough content from the manga to make way more episodes than that?

They better make a 3rd season later on in the year or something! I want more Hajime no Ippo!

Haha, yeah I'm kinda more into manga at the moment, but yes, I'm always up for giving anime a try again (especially since my tastes often change).
