Its a boring slice of life Isekai.
Good
Its mostly MC meeting nice people and doing quests for them. pretty relaxing to read.
The art is decent.
There will always be some gag jokes, keeping the manga light-hearted.
Bad
MC is boring. He repeats that he wants to hide his power to avoid unwanted attention, but he also reveals his power at every opportunity. It is irritating to see MC use powerful magic or reveal secrets and then think "oops, shouldn't have done that"..
MC is too OP (basically a god). The man literally needs to say the word and the magic just works. Whether it is combining materials into items
...
or cleaning or healing or become invisible or instantly memorizing books etc..
Overall
Judge a manga, based on what it is trying to be, rather than what you want it to be. Its a slice of life and relaxing series, where you have a zero-personality MC breezing through life. Not much makes sense if you try to properly read it. But If you do not taking it seriously, it can be a relaxing read to pass time. Otherwise, just skip this.

This is a classic harem ecchi with lots of otaku references and the plot mostly revolves around cosplay.
Good:
1. Ecchi: There's lots of it. We don't have any weird incest or loli or gender bait stuff.
2. Art: The backgrounds are kinda plain, but all the character panels (especially cosplay ones) are amazing.
3. MC: He's basically an otaku version of Naoya (from Kanojo Mo Kanojo), but also more complex due to his past trauma. His passion for his favorite character leads to an epic moment with a manga author somewhere around chapter 100. That is peak manga and anyone who reads until then will remember
...
this series by that panel.
4. self awareness of its own tropes. references to older and newer otaku pop culture stuff.
5. Comedy: Very similar to 100 girlfriends or girlfriend, girlfriend. It makes fun of its tropes by explicitly calling a tsundere a tsundere or saying that the childhood friend always loses in the harem race.
6. Harem: The girls are all super nice and get along with each other as best friends.
Bad:
1. Drama can be a bit of a mess and gets a little too serious too often. I'm here to enjoy romcom harem stuff, so I hated the drama parts (especially how often and common drama is every volume). The romance is often blocked by MC's traumatic past. Fortunately, with manga, you can always skip the boring serious parts.
2. Preachy. The manga wants to show cosplay as a true "Art". There's also a lot of debating about what's an art or what's love or whether you should make money with your passion/art etc.. and potential answers to them. That is not bad by itself, but again, it happens too often with a wall of philosophical text panels.
3. Flanderization. A few characters like nonoa or Aria become one dimensional tropes after their introduction arcs. Once you go beyond a certain number of harem girls, author needs to boost their stereotypes to make them feel unique among the group. Some of them are also "obviously tier-2" harem members, that have no character development beyond their introduction arcs.
Overall
This is an easy to recommend manga, as long as you are comfortable with lots of ecchi. It ain't ground breaking or era defining, but it will give you exactly what you expect from a harem ecchi cosplay manga.

This is a drama with some comedy and romance.
Plot
Junior FMC in love with her super strict boss MC. The second MC is a rich board member who is suspected of selling core technology to russians. The govt sends a male spy, but rich guy completely ignores any man. So, they send a female agent, but the agent instead falls in love with him and even reveals the whole spy/russian allegation thing. Finally, FMC and MC are sent under the disguise of a married couple who live next door to rich guy. Will they succeed? or will FMC fall in love with the
...
rich guy too?
Review
I will get straight to the point. The series was fun in the beginning, but it keeps getting more melodramatic and chaotic as time goes on.
Good things
1. Art is pretty cute
2. The whole concept of boss/junior pretending to be married couple while the target is a love interest is also great.
Bad things:
1. character progression: The characters are very messy. They start out fine, but their motivations and intelligence go all over the place. They stopped making sense by chapter 20-ish. Both male MCs have almost become simps for FMC.
2. The drama gets too serious as time goes on. The drama plot is pretty cliche too, where a dreamy happy go lucky girl comes to save a guy tormented by trauma.
3. The plot is dumb af. You need to completely stop using your brain.
4. There's lots of "misunderstandings" going on, and any time it might be resolved, the story immediately resets the progress. Especially the romance track of MC and FMC is just so weirdly progressing. When FMC is in love with MC, MC ignores her. When MC finally loves her, FMC ignores him. Then.. I don't even get wtf is going through these character's brains at this point.
I will just use one example. The female secret agent that falls in love with rich guy, goes into hiding after confessing everything to the rich guy. For a supposed "spy" organization with lots of budget, they are completely incompetent and can't even catch this single female agent. When our MC/FMC find her at a bridge at night with nobody around, they let her go just to avoid a confrontation in public which might risk civilian lives. Then, later, they learn that the female agent is in a bus going from the city to her hometown. Now, what does this secret service do to catch her? Drive to her hometown faster than the bus and try to catch her in a public bus terminal in front of everyone (what happened to risking civilian lives ???). Further, it turns out that she already exited the bus in the city itself, and didn't even come to hometown. lmao.
This series is basically a shoujo manga with lots of made-up drama. I will still rate it 4 for the art and some great comedic moments during the first 10 chapters of the series. But, the quality of plot or characters is pretty low and even annoys you at times.

I started this series without knowing that this actually has prequels. Not that it would change my review, even if I watched the previous season/movies. Except for MC and his butler, almost all the other characters are new and introduced in this arc. Except for the last episode, which is more of a filler / fan service episode.
Plot
The story seems to involve a young detective MC who has made a contract with a demon. The demon is MC's butler and helps him with his investigation by joining the school as a teacher. MC joins as a student. The case dealt with in this season
...
is a "missing person" mystery in a school ruled by 4 student council members (or something like that).
Review
Anyway, this is not a season that has much to talk about. The art and animation was good.
The mystery was meh from the very beginning. But the way it is solved is downright insulting. At times, I had to wonder if this was a parody of mystery novels.
MC just gets information by asking other students, and/or using his powerful butler to gather information. Its not like MC derives any cool insights from the information he gathers. Its literally just gathering mysteries, hatching plans and executing them...
The worst part was probably the cricket match episodes and the final reveal. MC displays some of the worst sportmanship possible by cheating his way through the game and the anime shows it like its a deserved win smh. And that final reveal of missing person.. oof. Almost made me quit right then and there, but I had to power through as I was so close to the end.
Considering the all boys school, and our MC with the male butler, I didn't realize it at first. But reading other reviews it finally struck me.. This is a yaoi bait manga. Although some students straight up look and sound like girls, its all still boys. There was not much in terms of romance tho, so it is still bait and doesn't commit to any actual yaoi content.
Finally, I think you can watch this series if you turn off your brain, but why would you do that in a mystery show? More importantly, except for the butler, the rest of the cast lack the charm to engage the audience's interest. They are all boring one dimensional templates with very predictable dialogues.

Tonari no Youkai-san is a Slice of Life with elements of mystery and heavy drama. The setting is a fantasy world where "yokai" (imaginary beings brought to life due to power of rumors, emotions, desires etc..) live with humans.
Plot
The show starts when a 20 year old pet cat is reborn as a nekomata (a yokai cat with two tails and power to transform). As a newborn yokai, he starts learning the ways of this world and this allows us audience to tag along for the lessons. We keep meeting new characters (around 15+ major cast members at this point) which all have their own
...
stories/backgrounds (both current and some flashbacks). At the same time, there is a larger mystery plot unraveling in the background. The pacing is great, leading to a decent climax that provides enough closure for this season.
Review
I definitely love the setting of humans and yokai living together in a slow slice of life with a rural backdrop. And the mystery behind the world's lore is also intriguing. And there are some ridiculous characters (eg: wagen-san) which are memorable.
But, the series has a few negatives:
1. The background stories of characters are often boring and predictable. And they say lines like "How could you understand how I feel?"..
2. Unnecessary "power of friendship" moments. Some dialogues like "I want to protect/save you" feel cringe when its middle schoolers (or even younger children) saying them.
3. Some drama is stretched too much and takes you out of the story.
I would recommend just watching the first episode. The series maintains the same vibe throughout the entire season and you can easily judge if it is to your taste. While I don't regret watching it, I don't exactly feel glad either. Its a decent enough series, that is worth its runtime, but nothing memorable.

This is basically a slice of life manga like `campfire cooking`, but with a really OP protagonist.
There is no plot. MC reincarnates into a orphan's body who is almost dying in the forest and inherits her memories too. He realizes that her life would be sad and exploited by adults if she returned home. Instead, she decides to live alone, and eventually travel to other places (similar to any adventure isekai). From that point, its just her daily routine and journey with some occasional food/fights.
Here's the rough overview that most people care about:
1. Ecchi: its there in tiny amounts and not really worth
...
it. The raunchiest scenes come out of her dream in chapter 3 or chapter 4. And the rest of teh series is just her bathing or sleeping naked or off-screen masturbating. She is super super cute, and the art really carries this manga hard.
2. Food: Again, not much. Its there occasionally where she tries new food or makes recipes with isekai meat. eg: orc meat or horned rabbit meat etc..
3. Lore: lmao.. what would you expect? Its the same routine middle ages setting, so that our MC can piss all over others by using their modern knowledge. The whole magic system is also the usual copypasta video game stats based design.
4. Hook: The guy turning into girl is pointless and only there for the catchy title. You could have a girl reincarnating as the girl and nothing changes really. I guess she likes masturbating a lot and looking at her own great figure provides some easy stimulation.
5. OPness: She has creation magic and huge timeless inventory inside which she can compose and decompose things. eg: store an animal's body and extract its fur/bones/meat separately in a clean way. Pretty much a god if she uses more than 2 brain cells.
6. MC: The design is pretty cute. But the IQ is negative. This requires a special paragraph dedicated for it.
MC keeps saying that if anyone found out about her stats, she will be captured and exploited by some rich scum. But, she also reveals her strength *so many times* that its not even funny. For someone with an adult's intelligence, she barely displays any caution or maturity. Its been infuriating every time she decides to help some random stranger using her OP powers which could jeopardize her whole life. Sometimes, she outright reveals about her secret powers out loud during a conversation without thinking it through. Dumb protagonists are really trash and it seriously wanted me to drop the series at times.
Overall
The manga offers nothing new. Let me repeat myself. The manga really offers nothing new. Its just another Isekai with an OP MC, but as we are following a female protag, we get some nice horny scenes. If you want something new or proper ecchi or entertainment, do not pick this manga up.
But, generic slow-life Isekai have their place. Its comforting to read when you are bored and not in the mood for a "proper" story/emotional ride. As a slow-life Isekai, this manga is "good enough" and the art makes it an easy read.

This is a shoujo fantasy version of "worlds end harem".
Plot
Girl gets hunted by truck-kun into a coma, and she wakes up 2000 years later to be welcomed by 4 handsome demi-human males. Except her, all humanity is extinct because earth merged with an Isekai, and the magic particles from the Isekai are toxic for humans. The only counter is to receive the fluids of demi-humans (almost like gods). The demi-humans are also trying to impregnate her, for the sake of birthing heroes who will prosper their respective kingdoms and fight off the gods of misfortune.
Review
This is a shoujo manga. And it panders shamelessly
...
to female fantasy.
Basically, one by one, she will make these 4 men fall in love with her using shoujo logic of "I can fix him".
The chapters slowly progress like your average ecchi manga. First, she must kiss to receive saliva to counter the celestigens. Then, she receives oral. And finally, sex too.
The main problem though.. is that its all censored. I have no idea why a smut manga of all things cannot draw nipples.
The plot is decent for what is essentially a hentai.
There's also lots of sexy scenes, but due to censorship, all of those scenes feel bland and a waste of space.
There's also a lot of rapey vibes, because almost every one of the males is trying to impregnate her one way or the other.
Its not really worth reading imo. The only advantage is the intriguing plot and the mystery of Isekai.

There's really not much to say about this series.
Plot
MC has black/white hair color and different colored eyes. Its actually a cool design, but apparently everyone always bullied him for that and he escaped that stress by fighting people like a delinquent. Finally, for highschool, he decided to move into a new town famous for its delinquent school. But turns out that the highschool students are "defenders" of the town (lmao.. who needs police) who protect it from other bad people. Now, MC will learn about kindness as the rest of the town is very grateful to them for "protecting" the town and also learn
...
to be friends with other students. He also plans to rise to the top and become the strongest guy or something (cringe.).
Review
This is simply a highschool battle manga. If you are a teenager, you might like it. Its just teens giving life lessons like they have experienced the deepest shit or something.
Being a shounen, this is full of stereotypes. The characters, their backstories and the resolutions of all the fights are cliches we have seen a hundred times before. The MC who "hates" weaklings, will also help/protect them, and when they say thank you, he starts blushing and saying "I didn't do it for you. I hate the weak". Tsundere all the way.
But, the anime really outdid itself in taking such mediocre material and turning it into a top tier show.
1. The fight choreography
2. The animation and art
3. The sound (especially the background music during fights)
All three of those aspects are 10/10. Even without a proper plot or characters, the anime is carried hard by its action/animation/sound. This is why I gave this series a 7/10 rating.
If you are bored, and are looking for some "hype" content to pass time, then this is it. There's no layers or "deeper meaning" in this show, but the fights are still hype and you know the anime will deliver. If I had to compare this show, then I think beyblade is very similar in spirit.

Plot
After being fired by an arrogant prince, he joins his old party of classmates and resolves to becoming the strongest party in the world. Meanwhile, there's a secret evil organization which is doing evil stuff in the background.
Review
This is strictly an average manga. Its full of cliches in both the story and the characters. But it manages to have a clean structure in its story and you just feel *right* in the comfort zone when reading this.
The story has an overall plot thread. Its neatly separated into arcs. The arc starts with our party going to do something, getting caught up with the plot
...
of an evil organization and resolving everything through a climactic battle where everyone surpasses their limits. The villains will then share their flashback/motivations. This almost feels like a shounen at times. But, there's also a lack of depth in its setting. The magic system, the lore of the world, the motivations of character etc.. all feel a little too artificial and shallow.
The characters are more or less one dimensional and you can very much predict their dialogues at times. There is a LOT of plot armor, and you can see it. Everyone's got a flashback (mostly tragic). There's very little fan service.
Its all really generic, but because of how predictable everything is, I can't complain much. As I usually say in my reviews, some manga very clearly set the expectations from the first chapter and never disappoint you. This manga is average and we can see it from first chapter. It does deserve some credit, as the quality never goes down for all the 80 chapters that I have read.
If you are bored and need something to pass time, this is the perfect series for that.

Dungeon Meshi is what I call a "proper" manga. It has a story. It has its genres like comedy + fantasy. It sticks to its strengths throughout the series with a very satisfying ending. All the characters have their own stories and motivations. And it also has an overarching principle of "To live is to eat". It is a well rounded package and very easy to recommend.
I should probably warn you that the series takes almost 30 chapters before getting into the real plot progress. They are still quality chapters and do a LOT of world building with intricate details of dungeon ecosystem. We
...
learn about a lot of monster species and how to deal with those monsters. There's also a lot of hilarious moments. We get to know our characters throughout these 30 chapters. And once we have setup the world properly (with a lot of hints being dropped throughout), we get into the meat of the story.
And once the pace picks up, it never drops the ball. The story definitely gets a little messy during the later stages, but the author manages to maintain decent pacing. The comedy makes sure that every chapter has *something* to give you immediate reward, and the plot's mystery keeps you hooked for the long term. Although, I am not much of a fantasy fan, I still appreciate a proper written fantasy. Most other "fantasy" manga are just Isekai settings like demon lord, hero, OP magic, maybe advanced civilization, elves, dwarves etc.. But this manga actually focuses on building the world with a lot of detail.
If you are not into the comedy, it would probably be very hard to keep going through the first half of this series. So, please read 3-4 chapters and decide for yourself if the comedy is to your taste.
