Both anime have a main character that is traveling from village to village, gaining more money, friends, and confidence on the way. Both have cute side characters you meet along the way. Both have some focus to show the main character doing what they can to survive at the beginning as they gain better equipment and companions that help them live more comfortably. "Campfire Cooking" is more mid-high fantasy than this series, but the magic system here seems interesting with innate skills that define your future occupation (think MLP:FIM, if you have seen it). While "Campfire Cooking" focuses on the ways Mukouda can use his skill to live life easy, Ivy has to work hard to survive and you really root for her each time she has a windfall.
