Similar in almost every way. The only difference is the length; HaruToki is shorter with only 26 episodes while Fushigi Yuugi is longer.

Wolf's Rain

The general atmosphere in these animes are very similar. There are minimal cute/funny elements, the general color of the series is black. However, the complex plot with sudden twists and climax makes these series beautiful works of art. (If my memory did not fail me, Wolf\'s Rain\'s plot was not as complex as that of Witch Hunter Robin and Ergo Proxy.)

Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch

Code Geass has more or less the same idea as Death Note, the ally of justice, but a \"zero\" instead of \"kira\" and some mind work here and there. the differences are: Code Geass is more colourful+humorous, the protagonist is more emotional and less clever when compared to light.
