My heart is completely broken, yet so full and warm at the same. So many heartfelt tears, genuine laughs, heartbreaking sobs, and emptiness.
The music was beautiful and created the right mood without forcing the audience to feel a certain way. Pink Blood is my favorite this year!
I love the art style, animation, and character designs! The color palette is beautiful.
The story line is simple, but I love how unexpected and exciting it can get. Because of that, the characters lead the story.

happen in the story. Even when I tell myself not to get attached, they instantly become a favorite. Even the characters I felt frustrated or hated were written so well that it made me feel strong emotions. The voice acting was amazing too! They really got me on a rollercoaster ride of emotions.
I think what I really love about this anime are the themes presented. The ongoing struggle of “what is my purpose in life” is shown through Fushi and his interactions with others. So many questions about life went through my head. Watching this reminded me to appreciate the people, experiences, and growth in my own life.
No words I say can give justice to the story, characters, and the way it makes me feel. There’s absolutely nothing I would change. To me it was perfect. You just have to prepare yourself somewhat mentally and experience the beauty yourself.

SPOILERS!! This is going to be a long review and all over the place, so just warning you!
I have the most complains about this season, but really enjoyed the season overall. A very obvious change is that there are more still drawings and repeated flashbacks. I wish they could have put a little more animation into it. Also, almost every episode has 3-5 minutes recap. When you think about it, that’s 16-18 minutes of new content because of recap, flashbacks, intro, and outro. It’s a good binge watch though.
I heard that this was finally Sawamura’s season since he basically kept being pushed to the back.

He got a lot of moments but at the same time it felt like he was barely shown. One of my favorite moments was seeing Sawamura take sand from the bullpen. It was a nice scene and showed his frustrations and determination. Sawamura has grown so so much and just seeing him finally be given the chances and respect make me happy. I’ve said this before but he has so many pitches, is consistent, and has the focus to pitch one at a time. I also love how he isn’t satisfied and continues to grow. He main goal is to be better today and yesterday and that really shows the type of player he is.
I’m glad that the Coach Ochiai admitted his faults and is learning how to be a better coach. He acknowledged that Coach Kataoka should stay and that he couldn’t do the things that he did. Im actually glad for his growth because he really pissed me off. Pretty tolerable now. He is a great addition to the team as we have seen last season that he is good at explaining techniques and such. What I really found interesting was when he recalled Coach Kataoka saying that he wouldn’t sacrifice the team for Furuya, but ironically did. His observations and his honest opinions were refreshing. It’s nice to see that even when he says he doesn’t agree with something, he keeps an open mind.
I also really liked the turning point. I could really feel Sawamura frustration and hurt from ep 15-17. He has every right to be angry and I was so glad he didn’t take anyone’s shit and told them how it is. It’s also heartbreaking when he felt like it was his fault that they didn’t have faith him him. It really isn’t. Just because he is happy and energetic often doesn’t mean he’s easy. He has feelings too. Everyone wants to be appreciated and it’s upsetting that they can’t see that. At least he’s getting that now, but that doesn’t change the fact that they have been neglecting him. I teared up seeing him finally receive 1 the ace number! I loved how they put the og opening theme and got even more emotional watching his growth in the opening. It was so upsetting though they way they wrote his debut as an ace. I don’t care that it was realistic. It feels like it was for convenience or an easy way out. He’s gone through so much and yeah he didn’t have a good start but it would have been more entertaining seeing him get back to normal after his teammates cheered him up like usual. There are other ways to show that a character has a lot of stress on their shoulders as an ace, especially in future games. There are more creative ways to show a players constant struggle and strength. Why do they do this it’s been almost 200 episodes? He’s been struggling 75% of the anime, would it kill them to give him a break. I don’t understand why almost always it’s been Sawamura not shining when it counts and Furuya taking the spotlight. Why is the mangaka so insistent showing us his weaknesses. I know it would be a different story if it didn’t go that way, but still i can’t help but feel annoyed.
Coach does admit that he was being biased and not always correct, but it really annoyed me more that him and a lot of the players had little faith in Sawamura because they were too busy putting Fuyura on a pedestal. He used to trust all his pitchers and except a lot from them before, but I was disappointed that he waited too long. Like I said before, the ace title is more than just skill. Yeah it’s realistic, but still not fun watching Furuya take the spotlight for two season. Even in season 3 it took so long for Sawamura to show up. It’s not like I don’t like Furuya, but I find his character a little dull. He is talented, but he is often swayed by emotion and inconsistent. He is selfish and goes back to tunnel vision so often. It’s happened so often in the the past seasons so it’s kind of repetitive and boring when he’s shown so often. Time after time he keeps dwelling on the past and his mistakes. There’s no time, especially in the middle of the game. I liked the parallel he and Mei had though.
The second and third years’ teamwork is so good! Their relationships are so cute too like how Sawamura always runs to different people to complain. Still acts like the baby if the family hahaha. Sawamura and Kuramochi being in sync sometimes hahah. Best roommates! I’m so sad that we don’t see much of Sawamura Furuya Haruichi trio anymore. I was surprised haruichi cut his hair and is more confident, but his personality is different and he’s focused on doing his own thing this season. I’ve also grown to really like Kanemaru! He’s always been helping Sawamura since season 1, but we see his hard work pay off as a player. I love when they celebrate together “Wamura” “kaneMAAru.” I see our future captain since he is strict, yet encouraging to the first and second years. This season also let me appreciate some of the players that didn’t get much attention or appreciations. For example Ono and Kawaki. Ono has always been such a great senpai who is positive and reliable. When we see the new first year catchers struggle with Sawamura and Furuya and their perspectives, it goes to show how good Ono is and how much has helped them. I also love Kawaki’s growth. His team believed in him, but it was harder for him to believe in himself. He slowly got better and challenged himself. We can see that even though he felt inferior, he never rushed or gave up.
I actually like the new first years too. I like that the new first years bring depth to the story. We see a different perspective on the players, team, and game. When I first saw Okumura last season I was excited to see him. He’s a little different than I expected. Quiet but savage. When he dissed Sawamura I was shook but sawamuras reaction was so funny. He was like that too but probably worse and Okumura just got triggered. He learned from it and it was cute seeing his promise with Sawamura. I love that all the first years looked up to Sawamura. Ironic how they didn’t even see his growth but showed more appreciation and faith in him in the beginning of the season. Asada is such a sweet boy. Love that the roomies pranked him and scared him for a while, but he slowly got used to life there. Sawamura is a bit of a handful for all of them, but they got used to him so it’s all good. He’s super reliable and inspirational to everyone. It even fires up the team, crowd, and even the opponents! I love it!
And if you made it through the end, complaining about certain things does not mean I don’t like the anime. I can be picky and still really like certain aspects and the overall story/characters. Just because I think it’s lacking doesn’t mean you think so. At the end of the day my opinions don’t matter more/less than the next person.

I’m enjoying this season just like last season. I liked a lot of the new characters too! I think they did a great job of building the story and adding a few new elements from the first season.
It took me a while to get used to the new team, but I like them. I still really miss the third years but I’m glad they show up occasionally.

hard on himself. They did really well but again he was overconfident before the finals. He really got a cold and blunt wake up call from the coach during their first fall game. I was shook with every word he said, but it’s true. It doesn’t matter that the team basically had a roster of star players, most of the team were playing for themselves and not as a team. Mei’s greed got him and compromised the team. It was actually quite satisfying even though I was not expecting it to go that way. Bad habits die hard.
Ochiai was annoying as ever for most of the season, but it was so satisfying seeing everyone continue to prove him wrong. By seeing the players exceed his expectations after giving tips to how Coach Kataoka makes such an impact of them slowly changes Ochiai.
I really appreciate best boy Nabe! He’s such a precious cutie! I’m glad he found something he enjoys while being appreciated. It’s definitely a difficult thing to suddenly lose passion or motivation for something you’ve worked hard for. It’s also tough confronting others about it, but he did a great job overcoming his fears.
I’ve always loved Miyuki and seeing him grow as a captain was nice to see. He wasn't perfect, but tried his best. Zono and Kuramochi helped him too and were just as important.
I loved seeing Sawamura growth. He has faced so many obstacles but overcame them. He really did so well! Despite knowing his weaknesses and that there are others who are better, he doesn’t lose his positive attitude. It motivates him to do better and to be open to suggestions. I also love the animal nicknames he start giving everyone. I just was upset that people often overlook his hard work and growth. I don’t know why people kept losing their faith or was too nervous about him pitching when he proved so often that he has changed for the better. It’s a little annoying that they focus on other players and forget what he was achieved. He didn’t even make that many mistakes during the season. To me he seemed more like the ace and I’m waiting for that to happen in season 3! The ace title is more than just skill. He’s gotten more mature, but I still love his goofy side. Both really helped bring the team up and put their trust in him.

I enjoyed watching this one! The games were exciting and stressful, which I loved. There were a lot of characters that really made me laugh and want to root for, even on the opposing teams. My favorite characters are Chris senpai and Sawamura. Chris is such a great person! I always smile whenever he says something or shows up to help. is. OSU! OSU! OOOOSU! Also the nicknames he gives everyone is hilarious! Hahaha but he has so much heart and gradually improves. I enjoy seeing his organic growth. Even when he loses his way, I love how others try to help with what they can and how he slowly overcomes is.
I liked the art style and animation. The character designs were really nice. Nothing too crazy like other anime, but very memorable for me.
The music was okay, but not my style. I definitely understood the mood they were trying to put the audience in, but it didn’t really immerse me into the scene.
I did wish that they would explain baseball or strategies a little more. A baseball noob like me who knows very basic rules was occasionally lost. I just accepted what was happening more than understanding. I guess it’s because baseball is really popular in Japan, I think I heard.
The only character I did not like was the “outsider” dude. Towards the end of the season the “outsider” thought of the coach as being old fashioned, but in my opinion I think he was the one being old fashioned. I just don’t like his coaching style and it doesn’t fit with the team or should I say isn’t very team friendly. He’s only thinking about “long term high school” goals like winning nationals. He doesn’t care about the team or individuals. He only cares about the star player. “The kids I coached never came back after they retired” oh gee I wonder why? Is it a wrong approach? That’s for everyone else to decide, but I think he’s too tunnel vision, only thinking that one form of greatness is acceptable. That’s how you self destruct if you build a team with too much tension.
I have a lot to rant about, but I’ll keep it short. It also annoys me that he totally thinks helping individuals get back on their feet is hopeless. It’s like he believes that it’s a sign of weakness and that they don’t deserve another chance. Even the best athletes have gone through slumps and mental health problems.

This match was probably the turning point of my Haikyuu experience. I binge watched the first three season and loved it, but as Bokuto and Tsukki says, I really fell one level deeper into it and my moment has come hahaha. This was the season that actual tears fell out my eyes seeing Hinata’s struggling and hard work in the beginning of the season take place. It made me really understand and feel all the growth that happened from season 1.

really created an amazing world and there were so many great lessons that apply not only to volleyball.
I said this in my part one review, but I’m going to copy and paste again. They decided to change the artwork to fit the manga style. I got used to it quickly so it didn’t bother me. I know a lot of people didn’t like it, including the animation. I personally don’t pay attention to animation closely when I watch, so it didn’t bother me. There were some parts that were not up to par due to outsourcing, but there were also some great moments with the animation. The whole feeling of characters, flow, and story were not affected (at least in my viewing experience). So sad that people at the time refused to watch S4 for these reasons.
A couple of things that I wanted to mention ending my review. I loved the music as always! The new characters are so cool! Kita barely appeared, but he was so impactful and became my favorite instantly. The voice acting from everyone was amazing (again, as always) and I loved the Kansai dialect from Inarizaki!

Another training arc! I actually really like training arcs because character growth is my favorite! My heart was a little broken seeing Hinata confused and struggling. When we think he has grown so much, Haikyuu teaches us that there will always be something we can improve on. People like Hinata who have that hunger in them will always be tested and it’s about what we can do in these situations to better ourselves. Not just Hinata, but Karasuno individually too! I love it! I got to say though, I got the biggest second hand embarrassment in the first episode, but we still gotta love Hinata

This was such an enjoyable slice of life anime! The characters and story are hilarious and lowkey relatable! I really like the art style and sounds (or lack of sound) to create a lighthearted and relaxing atmosphere.
Tanaka is so silly, yet I’m lazy af like him at times hahaha. There were so many moments I couldn’t stop laughing. I didn’t expect some of the situations/reactions. Also, let’s give it up for Ohta! Get yourself a best friend like Ohta!

The budget for this season must have been over the top and it shows! The art, animation, music, EVERYTHING is top TOP tier! I got to say that the opening is my favorite out of everything HIKARIAREEE~
This season was extremely exciting, intense, and stressful! I didn't even realize i was holding my breath most of the time until my sister told me I looked stressed in the corner watching haha! I got to say though, I have seen reactors say they don't like Ushijima or that he is too cocky, but just like Hinata says, I think he's so damn cool! He has all the right to be confident. He acts like an asshole, but he is just blunt. No malice or anything, just straight up facts. Well, except when he told Oikawa he choose the wrong path. No one has a right to blame or judge others for choosing what they want whether you agree or not because it's not your place/your life.
I always say, this is my favorite season (to probably all the seasons), but it's just THAT good. Every season has something that I find my "favorite" but that just goes to show that Haikyuu is THAT anime.

The second season is what really got me into this show and lead me to binge watch the next seasons and start the manga after. I absolutely love the direction it went to. I learned more about volleyball and got to see so much character growth. Also new characters!! I never thought I would adopt so many kids hahaha.
Character growth is something I absolutely love! More than anything else, to me that is what I prioritize in any show or movie and that is exactly what Haikyuu is! Literally everyone grows as an individual and as a team and that just made my heart full!

I just love how realistic some of the situations are. I truly was not expecting Karasuno to lose in season 1, but that was exactly what was needed. We see characters who grow and fall back constantly, but still learn how to deal with that by not giving up! It really is reflective of life. Everyone has their own time and we all fail. Some "have it better" than others and we might fail more than the next person, but at the end of the day we are all human. I love it!
The art, animation, and music is top tier as always!
Overall, this season was so enjoyable. I love that Haikyuu makes everyone the hero of their own story (cliche, but done extremely well!).

I absolutely love this anime! This made me realize that I really enjoy sports anime. It's super enjoyable because the story is fun, the characters are super precious and funny, the music and choreography are BEAUTIFUL, and just everything is great! I'll just talk about my favorite things about the characters.
[Katsuki Yuuri]
I love that we see a character who is great at ice skating, but his nerves and confidence get to him. It's also refreshing seeing him gain weight (that sounds weird, but it again shows he is human). I loved watching him gain love and confidence in himself and the sport.

gorgeous! I feel like we know a lot about him, but at the same time know nothing about him. His relationship with Yuuri is so cute! I'm still waiting for that movie (I'm a new fan, so I can't imagine what og fans have gone through).
[Yuri Plitsetsky]
Let me first say that Yuri aka Yurio is so funny! He works so hard and I love his growth as a person and an athlete. He deserves it all! I've watched this a couple of times and I can't believe that Uchiyama Koki is his VA. I never noticed the first two times despite Ucchi becoming my favorite VA. He voices Yuri so well!! (I literally love the whole cast just on their VA's performance).
I can probably go on and on, but this anime has a special place in my heart!
