I genuinely cannot understand the praise this series gets. I don't watch a lot of slice of life and admittedly my exposure to the genre maybe through some of the really goods one like Kids on a Slope but this show is so frustrating because it feels like it was going somewhere good but then just heads happily into the obvious clichés.
At the beginning I though "hey this is a loli character that's actually not an annoying child that gets treated like an older character by everyone else" how wrong I was... she starts off fiercely independent and kinda reminded me of Nagatoro MC

It's not some ground breaking series but it's a fun time at least. I found that the inner monologue and the reactions from his friends and the side characters made up for the lack of romance between Junichi and Yukana. I was kinda hoping this would be a slighltly more ecchi but fun version of Nagatoro with a similar level of teasing and beating up on the main protagonist. I treally isn't though, Yukana is very 'normal' and I guess the point is that it's perhaps trying to show that 'gal's' aren't as the male group thinks they are. I think Nagatoro kinda does this

Really did not expect to enjoy this as much as I did. First, in terms of story I fell in love with the characters and how the author basically doesn't overuse shounen anime tropes. You don't get too much unnecessary romance and the story does get serious when it calls for it. The constant back and forth between the brothers where you try to get into what Yukio is thinking makes it really engaging and kept me interested into where his character arc was going. There's not a huge cast of side characters but for the most part they get a good amount of

Only watched this cause my girlfriend recommended it (now ex - yes, it's that bad) and I severely regret it. The characters are as a generic as you could possibly get, main dude who looks mediocre and has a harem of girls around him. Some are creepily underage or look creepily underage. The actual plot is predictable as hell and it's annoying that at the end of some episodes they have a 'evil' person say stuff like "what am I going to do about this" or "ooh this is going to change that" sort of things. Like those vague hints are just bar writing.

I watched this some time ago so admittedly this review won't be too deep story-wise. But seriously this was such a good anime. I mean I think we all reach that age where the usual stuff that first got you into anime may still be fun but you realise how shallow and at times one dimensional a lot of it is.
That is not the case with this show. It explores a variety of themes and in away you kinda hate the protagonist for his behaviour at times but in the end you're still rooting for him. The ending especially stuck with me as it tackles ... |
