it's really great how Asano can really get into that teen angst mentality, when i first read it i was this sad middle schooler and kind of felt identified with Isobe, and when Isobe did his change I was really disappointed, pretty much like Koume was, it's like, Asano had me all figured out.
reading an interview apparently Asano made the Isobe character after reading about 中二病, so like, the whole character of Isobe was supposed to be this teen who took stuff way too seriously until he finally matured, and i think that's pretty neat

btw, i'm sure he was fine, haha, i don't think Asano would be cruel enough to mess more with that poor character right after he was getting his shit together
