This manga is incredibly mid, so why am I still reading it? Everything about this show is unoriginal and the only original aspect it has (Kafka being in his 30's) is never utilized to its fullest potential, in fact, everything about this story isn't used to it's fullest potential. Nothing is original, but it actually has some redeeming qualities. The action is very fluid, intense, and gripping. The action scenes flow very well and it's very nice to look at. And there are some HYPE moments, I won't spoil, but the Director General Shinomiya plot point actually had me shook lmao.

In the year of our Lord 2023, I don't think Soul Eater stands the test of time. I really enjoyed the first 1/3rd to 1/2 of the story. The character development and drama was very interesting, the plot was engaging, and the art improved after 20-30 chapters that it was very pleasing to look at. The main cast, during the first half was phenomenal, all the growth they go through was very gripping and I couldn't put it down. I think after the 2nd half the story falls of HARD.
