The Majin is reviving! Seven Heroes will assemble to reseal him before he can destroy the world. Welcome to a plot more common than the thought of Bill Gates making money.
Story: 8.5
Compared to the rest of the anime, the story is completely bland and overused. Until it is not. The actual plot begins to take effect when 7 braves become caught in an enemy trap. As there cannot be more than 6 braves, this obviously becomes a problem. The anime's plot focuses on the aspect of mystery and suspense. Who is the 7th brave? How will our main protagonist resolve his conflicts regarding the seventh
...
brave? These questions drastically change the aspect of the anime that started off very bland and unoriginal into something intriguing and mysterious.
Art: 7
The animation of Rokka no Yuusha is nothing special by any margin. In fact, when compared to many other animation styles that are showcased during Rokka no Yuusha's season, it looks underwhelming in comparison. Despite this, it still does its job and performs without harming the anime.
Sound: 8
The music for Rokka no Yuusha is certainly no slouch. The soundtrack for Rokka no Yuusha adds a lot to the intense fight scenes that the anime likes to present. It also does a nice job creating suspense and mystery, two things that the anime constantly highlights.
Characters: 9
While the characters are not wholeheartedly generic, they are by no means interesting. Except Adlet Mayer. Adlet Mayer's character makes up almost all of the character development in Rokka no Yuusha. In doing so, he becomes something highly understandable. He becomes someone who is viewed as intelligent. Most of all, he becomes someone who changes throughout the series. This change is very entertaining to watch and can get you really invested into Rokka no Yuusha.
Enjoyment: 9
I Enjoyed Rokka no Yuusha a lot. Its ability to create suspense was highlighted a lot throughout the series, making it really interesting to watch. The character that is Adlet Mayer is very unique and kept me very interested and excited to keep watching.
Overall: B
The mean of the scores add up to 8.3. That is in fact a B. There are a few reasons why I decided that Rokka no Yuusha deserved the B it received. This has a lot to do with the execution of the anime. The anime's purpose was not to be a thrilling war anime filled with amazing magic and powers. The purpose was to create suspense, to be mysterious, and to keep the audience on their seats. In this aspect, they certainly succeeded. However in doing so, they ignored a lot of other elements that separate the good from the great.

New York City is overrun by monsters!
The statement itself seems quite quirky. However when put into context, it truly is just another day within the world of Kekkai Sensen. A world so vast, so mysterious, so telling, and downright awesome, that the depth of its possibility seems endless. That's, enough of my praise. Let's get down to business.
Story: 9
Kekkai Sensen introduces a very enticing, extraordinary, and complex story. It gives little detail upon where we are in our current situations. It leaves, gaps, holes, and mysteries to be solved. Not to mention the unbelievably fast pacing that the anime showcases. Despite the claim that all
...
of these should be setbacks, Kekkai Sensen successfully mingles every aspect into a fantastically, smooth story. In doing so, Kekkai Sensen separates itself from the other animes within its genre, becoming something truly interesting and fresh.
Art: 7
The art of Kekkai Sensen is most definitely the weakest link. The art is quite mediocre at some points and just doesn't stand to par with the other aspects of the anime.
Sound: 9
Such a good soundtrack. The soundtrack really impressed me and added a lot to the overall feeling of the anime. Each soundtrack fulfilled its purpose wonderfully, even adding its own spice at many points within the anime. Not to mention the ending for this show. The ending for Kekkai Sensen really fits the tone of the anime and is simply cool. Just like the smooth, jazzy, lightheartedness that Kekkai Sensen can take on, the ending really highlights what makes the anime so interesting.
Characters: 10
Almost character in Kekkai Sensen is undoubtedly underdeveloped. Once again, this aspect perfectly fits into the image that Kekkai Sensen wants to take on. Kekkai Sensen is a show that likes to be mysterious. It likes to always have a few tricks left to entertain the audience. Most of all, Kekkai Sensen loves to be different.
Kekkai Sensen also encompasses the all important rule of change. What makes a character great is change. Leonardo Watch's addition to Libra and how he changes is very interesting to watch. His initial personality is changed by the end (though still fundamentally there) and his beliefs are highlighted by his choices.
Enjoyment: 10
If you have read this far, the enjoyment aspect must be no surprise. The story is undeniably interesting, the humor is absolutely amazing, and the characters are very fun to watch. The anime's unique spice of jazz and New York create a unique identity that can be associated with Kekkai Sensen. With all of the eccentricity that Kekkai Sensen brings, you most certainly will not get bored.
Overall : A -
The mean of the scores is 9.0. That is indeed an A minus. Kekkai Sensen's ability to create an identity for itself, provide characters that are interesting, and prove its depth of story, make it one of the better anime of its season. Its flaws lie in the animation and mysterious identity that leaves many character's dry for development.

Imagine waking up in the morning, getting a cup of coffee and opening your readers digest to look for some interesting things about food. Now imagine that all of the foods have naked women around them. Welcome to Shokugeki no Souma.
Story: 8
Although not many anime focus on just food and cooking, there are still a few out there. The big question about Shokugeki no Souma is whether it differentiates itself from those other anime.
Yes. Shokugeki no Souma takes a look upon the world of competitive cooking. Unlike many other causal cooking anime, Shokugeki no souma likes to highlight the stress of competition. How
...
competition can change a person, how people adjust during time of stress, and what it means to reach a goal in such a do or die situation. The excitement created by this will entice an audience, making them more interested in the outcome of the character's struggles.
Art: 9
The art of Shokugeki no Souma is very good. As it is a newer anime, the quality of art is to be expected. However, Shokugeki no Souma is a show that will always make you want to eat. The food is animated beautifully and really highlights the fact that the anime is about cooking.
Sound: 8
The music is okay. Not bad by any means, but is unable to add the level of excitement that the show likes to create. That being said, it still does its job.
Characters: 6
This is where the anime really drops in quality. The anime is full of stock characters. (In literature stock characters are pretty much characters that are generic, cut and paste, and easily replaceable.) Many side characters in the anime are too bland and plot driven. The only one who really is highlighted is Souma. Despite this, the anime has shown little of what makes a character great. Change. The anime's cast of character has too little change. This really hurts how much you can really get invested into the anime itself.
Enjoyment: 9
I have a confession. I enjoyed the shit out of Shokugeki no Souma. The way that they highlighted competition really can put an audience on the edge. Despite many underwhelming aspects of the anime, it still has a little bit of comedy, that while feels out of place, can really set in a casual tone. This creates a big disparity in terms of excitement and makes the competitions more epic.
Overall: B -
The aspects of Shokugeki no Souma average 8.0. That is indeed a B minus. The show is certainly enjoyable. Putting aside the ecchi that the show includes, it manages to really be exciting. The music and art really add onto this recipe for success as well. Certainly a good watch if you want to be invested into something very exciting and interesting.

I came across Prison School after checking the top seasonal anime. At first glance I believed it to be nothing of interest, as I am not a fan of ecchi anime. However, after watching the first few episodes I came to understand why it was among the higher ranks of its season.
Story: 7
If I had one word to describe the story of Prison School, I would call it absurd. The simple story that boys can get locked into a school prison is completely nonsensical. However, upon closer evaluation, where does something like this even show up? It is so ridiculous that it can be described
...
as uncommon. Therefore, it avoids the the usual tag that people like to throw onto shows. Generic. If the story is not good, it will at least be interesting.
Art: 8
The art is a eight. I usually don't bicker too much about art as long as the animation does its job. However the one downside about the graphics of the show is the abundance of censorship. While I do believe that it is probably needed, it can get a little awkward at times and for some, it is even annoying to an extent.
Sound: 8
The music for the anime is a eight. I usually have the same rule for sound as I do art. However, in this case, the sound not only functions within the anime, but it adds a little.
Characters: 10
This is where the anime shines the most. The five boys that enter the prison are already very interesting characters. However, the one thing that makes characters good is change. In prison school change becomes something very apparent. As the five boys continually face challenges, they change a lot throughout the series.
Enjoyment: 10
Are you serious? This is most definitely a ten. The anime shines the most with its sense of humor. The absurdity of the anime, the strange characters, even the music and art contribute to the overall humor of the anime. If anything, this aspect of the show will always make you want to watch the next episode!
Overall: B
Well the mean of my evaluations round up to 8.6. That is in fact a B. There are a few reasons that I feel that the show is a B and not higher. This has a lot to do with the discrepancy of character development. While three of the five boys were given a deep character, two of them didn't really get highlighted. Also the fact that the censorship was everywhere did make the show a little bit worse in presentation.
