Both series have tight sempai/kohai bonds between the main female characters. The three Rose families of Maria-sama ga Miteru are mirrored by the three rival Undine companies of Aria. Both series are light-hearted slice of life stories that never fail to make you smile and feel warm inside (but Marimite can get a little dramatic at times). Also, funnily enough, both series follow the pattern of having a first TV season, a second TV season, and third OVA series, and then a fourth TV series! :D

...then you might like Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru add

Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru is a little less dramatic and a little more humorous than Maria-sama ga Miteru, but they both have the older-sister/younger-sister catholic school relationship theme.

KyoAni does sad girls with sad stories yet again, but this time with an easier to understand plot.
