the seasonal anime version of Monogatari, is it stylish? yes! is it different? somewhat? is it good? ... maybe? it feels like it could have been great and it´s a lot easier to watch then most of the former mentioned series. The situation that is presented at the start could lead to something great, but it never rly uses that potential. The most comparable anime would be "Yesterday wo Utatte". Starting with a lot of hype but lacking substance. Breaking it down u get some mostly uncoherent slice of live romance type of storylines. The Mc is basically a self insert, to a point where ... i doubt he has any "character traits" at all. The tone is melancholic and the pacing rather slow. Character interactions are very stereotypical. If u want to watch it, do it late at night with a drink.

Its decently well made, suffering a lot from very flat writing. The basic idea is intriguing but misses completely in the way it is used, every interaction stays the same as in Episode 1 there is no growth. While i get the point they are trying to make, the characters are just painfully 1 Dimensional. All this especially reduces the Enjoyment of watching, not making you stop watching immediately, but after that just leaving you like you just wasted 25 minutes. This show could maybe have worked on a 5-10min budget per Episode. If you are not hooked from the start, just drop it, hoping ... for improvement over the Season will just leave you disappointed. The Genre of parody isekai is already filled with so much and this show just cant get anywhere near the most of them.

You just have to love a show as unapologetic about its fan-service as How Not to Summon a Demon Lord. Achieving a comedic aspect trough predictability and shamelessness of its Ecchi scenes by means of self reflection, which makes this show stand tall above the genre. You wont like this show if u can´t handle this. For all the true gentlemen of culture this anime delivers a very enjoyable watching experience. The pacing is largely fast and fun, delivering its strong points in the complex, vast and creative world building and its characters. Personally I really enjoyed the combat system, the different spells, interactions, but ... also the equipment altering power and fighting styles. This is a strong pull for anyone who enjoys metagaming / theorycrafting in video games and d&d style role plays.
