Hirunaka no Ryuusei seems like a cookie-cutter, cutesy manga right off the bat. And although it is at times, this manga definitely has a sense of tender poignancy running throughout the entire story that hints at a more mature and substantial plot. The saving grace in this manga is the character development. Mars is a manga that is rare nowadays. Heartfelt with raw emotions constantly running throughout the story, this manga will cut right to your core and bring out feelings of tenderness and poignancy with its subtle but powerful story. Trust me, if you're not looking for a cutesy, over the top, juvenile sort of manga, this is the one for you. Mars is painfully realistic with its complex characters and quiet, hopeful optimism. Although a tad melodramatic at times, it does an excellent job of connecting with the readers and making them feel wistful and nostalgic at its end. 10/10 would most definitely recommend. The
