Hadashi de Bara wo Fume (stepping on roses barefoot) is a manga written by the same author of tail of the moon. The story takes place in the 1890's and evolves around a 15 year old girl (sumi) with 3 youngers sibling to care for and a womanizer of a brother who gambles away all his earnings, which leaves them in debt.

Desperate for money, Sumi goes out into the town to "sell" her body. She comes across a wealthy and handsome man (Soichiro) who says he will buy her. She goes with him only to find out that ... she has to marry him. There is a condition for this marriage, she cannot fall for him and he cannot fall for her.

I'd definetely recommend this manga for shojou fans. This manga charmed me with its cute artwork and intriguing storyline. There are twists in every chapter which will leave you with wanting more.
