In Belle when Suzu joined U, she was able to immediately become an overnight sensation with little to no work. I think this is analogous to how social media and the internet effortlessly allows us to produce an image of ourself that is a deviation from ourselves in the real world. While its instantly gratifying, this illusion is unsustainable as time progresses. Ultimately, Belle gains true happiness when she lifts the illusion and sings as herself, and confronts all the pain and trauma in her past head on. I think that this is an allegorical story that advocates for how some of us can’t use
