This series left me speechless. I'm surprised i can even find the words to write this review right now. I watched Toradora twice. the first time it made me laugh and it occasionally made me sad. this happened when i was 15. 2 years later, this series made me laugh and it made me wander around in my room thinking "what the hell?! how did i miss all that?! I never thought she meant THAT..." and "man I feel sorry for ****"

look into.most of what is said has a back-side. a lot is "coded" in the context. It's in metaphors used in previous episodes, it's in the actions and faces they made before, it's in their behavior... things you don't notice at first. and it's written and executed so fucking well that... well... it left me speechless.
---story---
plain and simple. a slice of the lives of Takasu Ryuuji, Aisaka Taiga, Kitamura Yuusake and Kusieda Minori. As they fall for each other and get over it and fall again. The usual love-comedy stuff. That is not really interesting as the main plot is very predictable. the only thing holding this series together is the awesomeness of the character design, and their dialogues.
---(the awesome) character design ---
"They relay to you exactly what they feel, and you can't help but love them." this sentence sums it up pretty well. when they're sad, you're out there sad with them. only a handful of series, out of the dozens I've watched, managed to do that. Besides - they're lively, adorable, and make you laugh.
second great trait of the characters here is that they do not talk nonsense, no matter if you watch it for fun or dive into it looking for what's between the lines. The texts do not seem out of place. they're not random and they're not about lame, unrealistic stuff. BUT they're a little too dramatic at times, though. Drama haters - beware.
Lastly - a very special spot is reserved to the characters that make this story roll. in a weird fashion, it is not the protagonist that drives the plot forward. It's a bunch of side characters that, through what they say and do, the others act. How it is different from other animes? i cannot explain. it just is.
---art and sound---
they serve the plot and characters very well, enhancing whatever you're supposed to feel, and often help define the characters' personality and thoughts.
overall - watch it. it's suitable for everyone.

Clannad... I've no idea what this name means, i never bothered finding out. That's cause after watching this series, frankly, you won't give a shit. Clannad is unique, like all other Key studios' works, and is a proud member of the "series that have touched me" ring(only 2 other series there). It will make you wanna cry, laugh, find a girlfriendboyfriend, and mainly go there and hug the characters with great sympathy.
While watching Clannad you'll be tossed back and forth between to happy, sad, busy, melancholic, and chaotic days of a small band of friends in a typical Japanese high school. This series presents us

with Okazaki Tomoya, who hates his life, then shows us a lot of bitter-sweet events in his high school life. Why bitter-sweet? Why not sweet? 'Cause life's not good to everyone, and as you learn more about everyone there you'll understand exactly what I mean.
The background story behind each main individual here is very detailed, and is presented in a great way, with an arc of episodes for each character, where we slowly get to know the person, his(well, actually her) past, and present self.
This story WILL move you, therefore have some tissue paper ready, and know that you really might cry while watching this one.
One of the features I liked in this series is that it has a lot of monologues. As if Tomoya-kun is telling his life story to you directly. This, along with the soundtrack(that left my jaw hanging somewhere near the floor) really help set the mood, and greatly enhance pretty much every aspect of the show.
Finally, the art. This is a very dark story. and it's reflected very well in the artwork. The environment and nature art are very well done. Both are used to help you understand what is going on in everyone's heads, and it really does manage to give you those melancholic-suicidal, I'm-so-happy-I'm-gonna-burst and the lol-this-is-funny feelings. in terms of character art, animation etc.. It's great, could be a little better(the facial expressions can make you burst into laughter sometimes).
To conclude - while this series is deep, and very emotional at times, it is also packed with a fair amount of comedy, and it will make you want to watch it to the end, and then continue to the second season, which will also have you crying.
Highly recommended.

I've watched quite a few Action-Romance-Mecha series before this one, non of the others comes close to Eureka Seven. This series is basically the best combination of pretty much every genre out there I've ever seen. Add to that great music and art, and you'll get a must-watch.
While watching the first episodes some may think: "This might suck", since, quite frankly, Renton isn't likable at first. That's when the main thing starts.
this series excels at making the viewer identify with the characters. It passes all the feelings of all the characters through to you exceptionally well, so well actually, that I believe if your

personality is slightly similar to that of a character, you'll feel like you have gone through the same changes after watching the series.
The second best trait here is the story. the story is awesome, and the way it is unfolded is even better. you'll never get bored here - something is always happening and it never feels like a side story. The plot twists a lot, though i don't want to mention details(spoilers) in this review. Go watch it yourself and you'll understand.
Finally, the SOUND. Hell, the sound changes everything. the sound makes you cry, laugh, feel encouraged it enhances EVERYTHING. What I'm getting at is that the sound is superbly done, the OP and ED songs are catchy and you'll find yourselves humming them every now and then. the sound effects are great as well, but i doubt you'll really pay attention to them.
I really really really do recommend to watch Eureka 7. it's a truly unique story, with unique characters and their development. If you watch it you're bound to take something from it with you.
You'll enjoy every second.

Gunparade is one of the best series I've seen.
although the art, sound and animation aren't top notch, the storyline compensates for that and makes this a one-of-a-kind.
No other series i watched delivered the same atmosphere this one has - dark,
post apocalyptic, yet somehow different. It's not something explainable, just watch it and you'll understand.
This series does have all sorts of anime cliches and the ending is visible from miles away, but it is still quite interesting to learn about who the characters are, witness their development(though very minor)

I kinda make it sound dull, but it isn't. The series is filled with comedy in all the right places, there is decent action throughout the 12 episodes and (almost) nothing feels out of place
to sum up - what makes this anime special is the storyline that doesn't leave many holes open and the unique atmosphere it delivers. if you love mecha, love post apocalyptic wolds and don't hate the "friendship crap", this is a must watch.
