That's totally fine, although i don't agree that it's progressive, thinking something is progressive is really just an opinion, so neither of us are right or wrong.

I know you're not the type to change your mind after hating something so im gonna stop trying (not because i have nothing to defend rezero with)

P.S please make a profile picture so people dont think you're a bot

Thing is Re: zero has established a plot, added tons of mysteries, added depth to Subaru and Rem, developed both of them, and added some layers of mysteries to a few characters such as Puck, Roswaa, Emilia, Rem, and Beatrice as well.

And smh, hxh didn't introduce nen until over the 30th episode, depth? Hxh only just introduced a fuck ton of characters, depth is given to them later on (Except Killua who has depth from the beginning). Naruto added depth to the characters but that was mainly done in the chunin exams are which is again, over the 30th episode and yes I will admit that chakra was introduced and explained quite properly in the beginning.

I feel like you haven't paid much attention to s2 because Re: zero also explained the basic concept of magic in that world with the Subaru and Roswaal scene in the bath in S1. (And puck also explains quite a bit).

And what's more is that Magic in re zero is not the driving force of the story whereas, in hxh and naruto, Gon and Naruto strive to get stronger and stronger which is directly related to their respective power systems but in re zero, magic just kind of exists, it's there and it's useful and it's explained but it's not the main driving force or the main focus of the story. Magic in re zero isn't as expansive as nen or other power systems but it's explained and it gets its job done imo.

And no, your point about Crusch doesn't stand. What you're doing here is assuming. "Oh a girl became feminine because she lost her memories, it's obviously an attempt at adding her to the harem when she only interacts with Subaru platonically and doesn't even spend much time with him and it's definitely not to show the extent of The Archbishop of Gluttony's terrifying authority and having Crusch start at ground zero and then gradually develop into who she previously was."

Also, your first review sounds a lot like you haven't paid much attention to the series and is just basically "Oh, this thing I wanted to happen didn't happen? Aight, bad show."

As you said, I also prefer my stories to be good from the get-go and quite frankly, I think Re: zero IS good from the get-go. But hey, you have your own opinion. And who knows, maybe re zero just isn't the show for you.

This incel only sees female characters as possible sex partners and nothing else, Ever heard of the word "platonic relationship"?. I swear This is the type of guy who thinks every female in a 10 mile vicinity would want to fuck him if he were nice to them. Most of your "criticism" can be proved wrong if you maybe just actually payed attention to the story instead of looking at the female characters' tits

Dieglot Aug 6, 2020 8:16 AM
wtf, how can you do a review of a show by watching only 2 ep, and saying is trash?

dude?
Sark_Morgan Aug 2, 2020 7:37 AM
By any chance do you play magic?
Shaura Aug 2, 2020 5:57 AM
Oh, yeah.

Salty Rem fan.

Dumbest review I've ever seen, almost all the parts you cover in your rEvIeW like saying Emilia is a "Plot princess" when her character will be delved upon in THIS very season.

"strange relationship with Roswaal, or gifted child mystique that Ram had in the first season"

That is exactly explored in the latter half of this arc.

"And guess what? She's ALREADY in love with Subaru. Why??" After the disappearance of Rem, it would seem as if Subaru saved all the villagers by himself so Petra has more of a crush on Subaru, not because he's the main protagonist.

"Oh and let's gimp "tough" girl Crusch into a basic idiot waifu with no competence, and hint and yet ANOTHER unrequited love interest towards our protag, so the audience can project even MORE sexual fantasy onto her as well. Brilliant stuff guys, brilliant stuff."

Crusch is never viewed as a love interest in the ENTIRE series, have you forgotten the concept of platonic relationships?

"But hey, of ALL the elements in this new season that return viewers REALLY needed to have explored, (the Queen selection, Emilia's OBVIOUS connection to the Witch, what the heck is going on with Pack/Puck or even just a little screentime for best boy Reinhardt)"

You do know that we're not even on 1/3 of the story yet, right? That's like reading 200 chapters of One Piece and expecting to know what the one piece is.

"Again SHITTY magic system with no rhyme or reason to it at all, just have the characters magic themselves into and out of tough situations with no explanation at will, and cripple the fan-favorite with said nonsense, unexplained magic so we can give our intended waifu a fair shot."

Highly suggest watching the 'Magic in re zero' video by a youtuber named Echidnut as he explains what exactly the magic in re zero is supposed to work like before calling it a shitty magic system.

"Oh, and let's drop several plot threads that might be interesting for the viewer to explore, like why elves are so despised in this world, and why our particular elf has a claim to royal succession, or what the heck this royal succession is even about anyway."

Elves aren't despised, half-elves are. Did you not watch the first season? And the reason is that the witch of envy was a half-elf and the witch cult have been planning to revive her through a half elf's body. And, again the royal succession is not the main focus of this arc.

"Remember when Subaru was struggling to learn the language of this world and the folklore and mythos of its people? Or how about training in Astrean swordsmanship and shadow magic?

Yeah, neither do the writers."

Because Subaru has the time to learn the fucking language when all this shit is going down amirite? Subaru actually does keep learning the language and shadow magic when he has free time which is after arc 4 ends ya Buffon.

"I mean, I've never seen a DEMOCRATIC MONARCHY before, so, it seemed like that might've gone in a curious direction, but seeing as how we detoured that to go fly-fishing in the first season, I realized this show didn't really have an intricate, well-thought-out political system, but that anomaly was more likely the result of lazy writing as an excuse to introduce "powerful" female characters who add nothing to the show (why are there no men competing for the crown?? Bczz animeee that's why)."

Once again, that's not the main focus of this arc, simple as that. And the reason why no men are competing for the crown is because the insignia doesn't react when touched by a man (As far as we're concerned).

"We are now nearly thirty epsidoes in and NOTHING important has been explained. But in case you've been glazed over staring at all the pretty girls and colors, I've listed some of the major ones right here."

Because the whole story is supposed to be 11 arcs and season 2 is just the 4th one, again, that's like expecting to know what the one piece when you've read only 200chapters of it. And, many mysteries are explained in s2 but even more, are added and the main mysteries like Subaru's RBD and Satella and such are going to be revealed around the final arcs (I'd assume).

"I mean SHEESH other shows like Samurai Champloo, Black Lagoon, FMA (original) and Stien's Gate have managed to tell COMPLETE, entertaining, self-contained stories in less time than Re:Zero has taken to crawl out of its prologue. And others, like Classroom of the Elite, Madoka Magica, and even freaking Elfien Lied have managed to get by with half the runtime."

Because they're supposed to be short-running shows for goddamn sake. You can't compare something like Steins;Gate to One Piece and say S;G is inherently better because it does more than what One Piece can do in 24 episodes because the way the stories are laid out are completely different.

Re zero is supposed to be a slow burner long-running show. This season (Part 1 and 2) is only going to cover arc 4 and even in the WN we are only nearing arc 6's end.

Well, finding it boring is just you. Interesting things are happening and this is just the introductory phase of arc 4, if you can't stand slow-burner shows then go and watch your shitty shounen.

Also, giving a review after watching 2 episodes, TWO episodes. It's fine if someone who has read the source material reviews it in 2 episodes but you haven't even done that. First, let the part or the whole season finish and then give your thoughts on it, this, this is just embarrassing.
