Both of these series involve a a male protagonist detective who encounters a source that gives them supernatural powers. They're both accompanied and driven by their female partner to solve crimes which revolve around worldly sins greed, lust, etc along with other heavy concepts. I enjoyed both of these series and feel they share several traits. If you like slightly dark detective stories that involve supernatural powers you'll enjoy both of these series.

Both share a similar setting where beings is devoured by other beings. The main characters in both series share similar personality traits. (Eren & Kaneki) The male protagonists both struggle to become stronger along with control their inherited powers to protect the ones they care about. (Mikasa & Touka) Both tough females who support the main male protagonist. If you likes stories that involve cannibalism, with characters who constantly question humanity you'll enjoy both of these.

Eventually, they both become obsessed with defeating their biggest opponents. (Light v.s L) & (Koguami v.s Makishima). If you like stories about witty heroes who struggle to do what is right without caving into doing what is wrong. You'll enjoy both these series.
