When I saw the words "Another: Episode 0", I was excited

The episode does not share the same ominous atmosphere the TV series had. But for fans of the series (such as myself), it's a necessary episode to watch. Why? Because it's a missing "piece of the puzzle" that properly explains the reason behind Mei's forlorn personality and attitude towards the curse.

I feel that this episode reveals the reason why she chose not to interfere with the deaths of the curse victims despite having the ability to do so and also why she chose not to reveal the identity of "the dead person".
[Minor spoiler] Because while ... watching this episode I realised that Mei must have somehow predicted/noticed the impending death of her sister (probably through her "eye") and attempted to save her [see Ferris Wheel scene]. In the end however, her sister died anyway and Mei realised that she couldn't do anything about her sister's death afterall.
Which is why in the series, she felt that it wouldn't have made a difference whether she revealed or tried to help the victims at all.

Of course, that's just my personal opinion. Maybe I'm thinking too much but that's how I'm going to interpret the episode.
It's important for everyone to watch it and come to their own conclusion.

I don't normally watch mecha animes but this is definitely an exception.

Aquarion Evol is no doubt better than the original considering that the original (Sousei no Aquarion/Genesis of Aquarion) was already one of my top ten favourite anime.
Having said that, Aquarion Evol is far more superior than the original in all aspects be it the story, the character development or the overall enjoyment factor.

The new characters all share traits with characters from the original Aquarion series which makes it a delight for those who have watched the original to guess the identities of these "reincarnated characters". Some obvious similarities are drawn in the first episode ... between Amata/Kagura (Evol) and Apollo (Genesis)...and Mikono (Evol) and Sylvia (Genesis).

It's nice to also hear some of my favourite Genesis Akino songs reused in this series.

But my favourite part of the series is the clash between the mysterious Kagura character with the humble Amata. Both desire "the hand" of Mikono but both share a secret that makes the relationship between the three so much more complicated than "just another love triangle".

So for those who love action mixed with romance, this is definitely the anime for you.

In a way, Mirai Nikki is a little like Gantz: the same "fight for survival" theme driving the entire storyline. But for me, this anime is so much more interesting to watch. There's a lot of violence but not in an excessive way and the story constantly keeps you on your toes with no boring bits. The characters (though crazy) are memorable and intriguing.

For me, Yuno's yandere character especially hit the spot. Her obsessive love for Yuuki is both disturbing AND kind of sweet...which is all the more satisfying when that love is somehow returned. I won't spoil any of the plot but the ... relationship development between Yuno and Yuki was one of the major reasons why I like the anime.

The story itself is fast paced and visually stimulating in a Battle Royale/Hunger Games-esque way...so much that you won't have time to get bored. You really need to watch it to understand which is why I recommend it to everyone!
