Nevermind the story or characters. One could kidnap, torture, kill and desecrate the remains of the MC's mother and it would all be solved if they just half-assed apologised and took a beating later (which the MC would go to heal them afterwards). The set-up for revenge and the actual payback is completely out of proportion in every situation. Don't waste your time, this is unreadable.
I have to ramble now because animeslist won't let me save your time with a short review, so here you go: The problem of the series is the protagonist and his general outlook towards conflict resolution. His relationship with
...
the dragon waifu is fine, although very generic, and even generic "immortal beings are rescued by random adventurers" plot at least have them have sex nowadays. Maybe this story targets 12 year olds? It would certainly explain the lack of death and constant "a girl has boobs" plotlines.
Honestly, I have no problem if that's the case, but again, the balance has to be right. You can't have people constantly trying to kill the MC, or "dominate" his waifu, saying the most disgusting stuff, just for it all to come down to "take this slap on the wrist, and we'll even heal you afterwards". That's just moronic. If the payback is going to be tame, then make the set-up tame as well. That's just common sense.
Have I rambled enough now, animelist? Thanks, again, don't read this.

Story is about a young woman that suffers from burnout, then founds herself in another world as a foretold priestess. Problem is that she has no powers, so after being dismissed by everyone as a flop, she just stays at the emperor's palace since her presence alone is useful to him. She doesn't have to do anything though, which is all she wants - until the emperor starts to notice her and refuses to leave her locked in her room out of care for her well being.
The narrative primarily deals with the aftermath of burnout, depression, others' expectations and lack of self-worth. There is no
...
real competition for her attention, romance-wise it's all about the protagonist and the emperor from start to finish. There will be no cliched events in which her life will be in danger, nor will she become an incredible hero that begins a revolution. The story is realistic in its themes, her struggle with depression is real, and the few misunderstandings are also realistic and easily resolved - as the couple communicates efficiently and in a healthy manner.
Humor is good, romance is good, story is okay (nothing much will happen). There are two problems though:
1. The setting is hollow. Although they hint at it, the emperor is never really given room to become a character out of what relates directly to how he treats the female lead. As someone that had expectations thrust upon him his entire life, it would be expected that at least this was developed, but no dice. There's no mention of his parents either, siblings, cousins, noble families - it's as if the empire exists only in what we see inside the palace. So both the male lead and the world they inhabit feel hollow upon closer inspection.
2. There is no real explanation as to how or why she was placed in the new world. Which would be okay if one of the few plots was not about a priest that is determined in making her fulfill her holy mandate. As it is, this plot (mostly forgotten throughout the whole history) feels out of place and only harms the narrative - since it doesn't seem to be any mandate, and him the sole lunatic for insisting on it without a proper build or follow up.
I recommend that you read this because it does a good job on portraying burnout and the journey to get out of it (there are very relatable scenes). However, if you do, you should ignore everything not directly related to its central theme - this isn't a story with real plot or worldbuilding, but more of a fairytale about overcoming depression.

Series is about a knight and a witch. The only spoilers in this review regard their relationship, so you should be fine storywise (other than chapter 1).
The knight lives in a village bordered by a forest and everyone is scared of a witch that lives there. One day everyone in the village dies while the knight is away and he's sure it was the witch, so he ventures into the forest and kills her (but since she's immortal, he pledges to kill her once for everyone that died). The witch doesn't fight back at all, doesn't understand what is going on and while crying in
...
pain (from being stabbed, burned and killed), the knight changes his mind and kidnaps her - rather roughly.
Story continues and obviously the witch didn't do it, while also having the mentality of a kid. So yeah, the protagonist not only did that to an innocent person, but also to someone that is closer to a kid than an adult. Things happen in the story that don't really matter, and the artwork is good, but the main point is: the protagonist is awful and the author clearly wants him to end up with the witch.
While he does apologise to the witch, it's never a real apology, but just something to satisfy himself - because not once in the whole plot does he consider "freeing" her, he never offers to bring her back to her home. All his actions are just to make himself feel a bit better about what he did while keeping the witch as a hostage. He doesn't care about her, but the story intends to make you believe that he does, and at the end dares to make him "save her" from a more than justified outrage by kissing her.
This story is not only badly written, it's gross. It's about a self-righteous knight that harmed an innocent person that has the mentality of a kid, keeps her as a hostage, tries to pretend that he's somewhat sorry for what he did while never offering to undo the part of it that he still can (bringing her back), and has the gall to try to make its end romantic - as if a kidnapper can be justified cause he developed feelings for his victim. Or worse, that the victim is better off for not having agency in her life.
I took the time to write this so you don't have to read it. Try reading Ancient Magus' Bride instead if you want a hostage/monster story.

This is without a doubt one of the worst mangas i've ever read.
A man who's a hero has a really bad time being one. There's assassinations, political intrigue, in the end he's just a puppet - thus, he chooses to reincarnate and live an easy life.
It does not go well, because he's instantly recognized as a prodigy. But through a stroke of luck, he's able to "fail" to receive a gift, is considered useless and exiled from his noble family (which is bizarre by itself, since there are only two sons... what were they going to do if his brother died? goodbye lineage? lol)
So now
...
the story kicks in, right? cause he's finally able to live his secluded and easy life! NO! (SPOILERS AHEAD) First thing he does is save a princess, then defeat the current hero in plain sight of an entire village, kill an "unkillable" dragon and every chapter brings another way in which he tries his best to be recognized as a god, even though the entire idea of this story should be the opposite.
No kidding it's like the author was writing two different stories at the same time and he got confused and replaced what should have been this one with another.
Plus, everything about the motivations of characters, worldbuilding, magic system, and overall plot is so bad it makes you feel like you're dumber after reading.

What has been done to this anime is an infuriating state of affairs. TLDR; So, after everything was ready, the director thought it would be "cool" to scramble the episodes out of order.
Long story short, I watched up until half of the season following the airing order, and would have given it a solid 3/10 - then I switched to what was intended, and instantly the score became 9/10. Every problem I had with the anime vanished.
Now, you might be pondering, as I did, if the "correct" order is another attempt from fans to change what was intended, and you'll be left with pieced
...
together episodes that don't entirely fit - but that's not the case at all. Every transition from one episode to the next was meant to be watched in the correct order, and the airing one is what feels pieced together, nonsensical, and, quite frankly, a flight of fancy from an idiot director who couldn't leave well enough alone, being obsessed with leaving "his mark" even if it only harms the material.
I don't guarantee that you'll love this anime, but if you watch it as it was meant to be watched, at the very least it will be above average for its genre.
