The two stories are similar in the aspect that the themes collide. Stories about characters done wrong by friends and others around them. Because of such upbringing, the two protagonist will go on a never ending spree of vengeance. Delivering it to those that done them wrong, one by one. Both acting as villains of the stories, and slightly similar plot wise, the two differ in setting. One takes place in a school environment, followed by a teen in her miserable youth. While the other takes place in a fantasy environment, followed by a warrior who went through betrayal seeking retribution!

The two stories have a similar theme behind it, as it deals with reincarnation. Though the unfortunate main characters came from a different background. The one in "Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken" spawns as a more interesting being! One which caught me by a surprise and might too tickle your fancy. As in Re:monster protagonist starts off with something more humanoid. Still keep in mind that the two inhabit a fantasy setting. What is also similar is that the two protagonist shares a common goal of achieve success, and survival. Most importantly they both have a slightly similar skill which is the core of their driven success!

As a twist of fate in Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari and Yakushoku Distpiari. The two protagonist are given skills that would lead them down the path of despair. Hence effecting their personality, reputation, and even perception of life for the worst. Though dealt with a bad hand. Both of our perceived as villain characters, would have to makes the best of what they got to achieve their goal as supposedly hero.

The premise of the stories is that the main characters starts anew in a fantasy based setting. In Re:monster the protagonist starts straight from the beginning at the age of birth. With Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu - Outo no Ichinichi-hen, the protagonist starts in the middle. With Instead more of a bigger theme on trial and error. Of course given their circumstances, the two stories main protagonist takes advantage of the given opportunity to achieve their goals.
