Think angels are all 'goody-goody'? You're wrong. Meet Panty and Stocking, two angels sent down to our world in this odd anime.
Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt may seem like the stupidest thing you will ever watch in your life, but it's actually truly brilliant with it's story. Why? Because it's not meant to please you. It basically says, 'here's what it is, and if you don't like it, get lost.'
The art, however, seems lacking. Granted I haven't seen a style like this used in an anime, but the art seems like scribbles I draw on my notes in Chemistry class. It's really nothing special in
...
my eyes.
Sound would be a better rating, but do to the over amount of cussing, there were numerous bleeps and bloops to censor it. I don't have a problem with cussing, but I hate so many bleeps to cover it up and can't hear most of the sentence.
The characters are not really special either, to be honest. The girls were slutty, and it ruined it. I think that the problem is that there really was no unique-ness now that you think about it.
To be honest, I didn't enjoy this show. Even though it's brilliant with it's 'it is what it is', it's really not worth the time.

Do you like animes with action, heart wrenching stories, and drama? Well, you're in the wrong place. Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei has none of that. However, that didn't stop this anime from instantly becoming one of my favorites.
Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei starts off with a young girl, Fuura, who is walking to school, only to be stopped by seeing Nozomu Itoshiki, her teacher she finds out later, hanging himself on one of the cherry blossom trees. Fuura saves Itoshiki by yanking him and snapping the rope from the tree. Next thing you know, Itoshiki is telling Fuura, "Are you crazy?! What if I had died!?" And the
...
craziness continues on from there.
The story basically is low mainly because... well, there really isn't one. Most of SZS is basically a teacher and his students talking about several things (more like flaws) in Japanese culture and society. It may be hard for someone who doesn't know a lot about the Japanese culture, politics, etc, to get all everything that happens in SZS. However, even if you don't know much about Japan, you'll still be laughing at some of the crazy antics going on in Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei.
The art I found was something different. I feel like I haven't seen an art style like this before, which is why I'm giving it a 10. It's something different, and the art style is very cute, not heavily detailed, and just very clean. Plus, some of the silly faces drawn in this make me laugh so hard.
Sound is not something I excel in noticing. I loved the voice actors though, and I feel they did an AMAZING job with the characters.
Characters now. Even though they don't develop at ALL, SZS has some very unique characters, all of which seem to have something wrong with them. Itoshiki is constantly in despair and tries to commit suicide every three minutes, all of which are terrible failures. What makes it even worse for him is that even his name spelled horizontally in Kanji even spells out 'despair'. Fuura is practically the opposite of Itoshiki. Even when Itoshiki is hanging himself, Fuura looks at it as making himself taller. Chiri, another one of Itoshiki's students, is practically the female Death the Kid. No wait, scratch that, Chiri is more OCD than Death the Kid. Her hair is perfectly parted, her socks are always up, even her sleep schedule is perfect. See what I mean with all the characters having something wrong with them?
Overall, I loved Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei. I think people that are fans of Hetalia might call this a bit similar with the undeveloping characters and the lack of storyline. However, this is not at all similar. It's very different actually. Watch it and you'll see it's different~

Hmmmm... I think I'll start off by saying that I don't watch anime movies often, previously at all. I just can't keep my interest with them, then I get distracted and wind up doing something else. After the several recommendations I got for this movie, I decided to rent it from the library and watch it. I knew I was going to lose interest in it, and... well, I was wrong. I watched Summer Wars all the way through, and I loved it.
It's starts out by showing us the virtual world of OZ. The world of OZ looked adorable to me, with the designs and
...
avatars. It was cute. The more I watch, I'm shocked because I find out EVERYTHING is ran by OZ. Everything. Then, after showing us OZ, it shows us the avatars of Kenji Koiso and Sakuma, who are apparently 'part time code-monkeys' (said by Sakuma) that run maintenance checks on OZ. Suddenly, Natsuki comes into the picture, offering a part-time job to either one.
Let's start with the story portion of the review now. Honestly, I loved the storyline. With the story, it basically likes to lead you to believe that something big is going to happen, then suddenly, it's like it says, "No, we're going in this direction now." It was surprising, and that's a good thing! I don't want to be able to predict what's about to happen, because then you know what happens before you watch it! That's boring. The surprises I got in the story left me very happy.
Art next. The art style is not my favorite, but I do like it. It's not very detailed, but it's very... hmmm... clean. It's simple, yes, but it's still good. Plus, it was colorful. Colorful is good. What got me was the animation. I LOVED the animation. I've seen a lot of anime's where the character's movements seemed stiff. With Summer Wars, the characters movement weren't stiff. The movement was... I can't really describe it, but it was so good for me.
Sound now. I honestly don't have a lot to say on sound, because I don't really focus on it. I just have one thing that bugs me. There's a scene where someone brings in squid, and everytime he lifts a lid of a cooler to reveal the squid, this shiny-like-oh-here's-something-cool noise goes off at the same time he's speaking. I didn't like that.
Characters next. The characters were amazing. I loved that the main villain wasn't really a person. Plus, and may be wrong, but was there an antihero I spotted in there? I could be wrong at that. Anyways, the characters had unique personalities and quirks and looks... in other words, they are all not the same. What's also great is that the characters do develop some in some way.
Enjoyment. I loved it. The movie kept my interest the entire time. With the fantastic animation, characters, and storyline, no wonder I did. I wish I still had the movie from the library so I could watch it again. It's that good. Definitely worth watching.
