Where Nichijou focuses mainly on exaggerating everyday experiences to comedic nonsense and putting its characters in a wide variety of uncomfortable circumstances caused by their own ineptitude, 4-nin focuses on a cast of surreal, otherworldly characters desperately trying to keep their secret lives from being uncovered and the comedy that arises as their masks begin to slip.
