Seriously? This literally came out of nowhere, this film has gotten such little attention it's beyond ridiculous. This is the epitome of what animation can do. This will forever be a classic in my eyes and I suggest anyone to watch this, it has something for everyone.
I adore everything about this show, from the animation to the characters everything is sublime. The CGI is there but it's hidden masterfully and used sparingly and where it needs to be used. It's used to enhance the animation and not to save money. The music is sweet and lovely, the characters are well written and with the story

Just a very bland show in all honesty. It has no real characters, they are all bland and there is virtually no character development to be had. That wouldn't be a problem is there was an interesting overarching story but there isn't.
There are shows that can do the slice of life properly where the main plot isn't very interesting or engaging but it's the dialogue and characters that make up for that. Fune Wo Amu is such a show. That show is about a group of people who come together to make a dictionary but it manages to engage the viewer the entire time ...

This show is massively underrated. It's so well made that it's quite refreshing. Nothing is done for no reason really. The art style is great, the animation is great, the music is really nice, characters are all different and some very refreshing compared to other shows. It's very laid back but all the characters develop somewhat especially the MC who is gradually coming to terms with the loss of his mother whom you see in flashbacks and dreams throughout the show.
