After reading the novel back in 2019 it was like a dream come true finding out the donghua trailer to it.The whole story is a masterpiece, 10/10 - recommend!

What i liked the most in this novel is how every single situation in which the main character finds himself can be described by the single sentence - He didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

And it's historical too, by reading this i learnt so much about chinese food,landscapes,history,etc. (mdzs and now tgcf) (guqin).Honestly the author managed to convert me into historical things she writes that godly!

The comedy is gold, i love how Xie Lian can't cook ... and fights with food to bring his enemies down;D like yeah 800 years aint enought for someone to learn how to cook okay!But then you realise the reason why (he's poor and a scrap collector) and the grief come in shattering you.Every chapter was an adventure with comedy mixed with horror and grief.
