I agree though, one look at my favorites should tell you where I stand with Shirou's "champion of justice" spiel. But all the more reason to be thankful for character development right?
Give UBW some time man, if you have read the visual novel you know that Shirou develops way differently in each route. He is most certainly not the same shown in Deen's adaption, and Ufotable has been adapting UBW almost word for word.
If you havn't read it let me break down the development:
Fate route: Shirou remains a naive child
UBW Route: Shirou becomes more of a realist
Heavens Feel: Shirou becomes an adult, a badass, and gains an almost nihilistic view of things. Almost like Kiritsugu Emiya.
We are only 4 episodes into a 26 episode show, way too early to be making reviews bashing a character who hasn't had the opportunity to be developed yet
I really do agree on your review with FMA: Brotherhood. Just the whole anime was not good, it was more disappointing, probably one of the most disappointing anime i've ever seen, not to mention its overhyped and overrated nature. While the fight scenes were well done and animation/art were decent enough to keep good balance and detail, overall it wasn't great. Especially the characters.
I'm glad at least someone thinks so. I've read enough to know that I'm not missing anything that wouldn't make me cringe, and I did spend 2 hours watching something that I didn't enjoy at all. Still, I suppose I can't really say I'm surprised that people complained about me dropping and then reviewing the show.
